OK, to make a long story short… Found my dress, and I love love love it, so that’s all that really matters. It’s satin with a mermaid / trumpet / fit-and-flare shape that I adore, with modern Swarovski beading and a little organza draping across the bodice and corset back.
BUT… I’m worried I may have been duped. I can’t find this style online anywhere — in fact the photo with the model is the only one I’ve seen not on a dress form display. This dress in particular is new with tag; she said she thought the name of it is “Tyra” but if you Google Maggie’s Tyra it definitely doesn’t match. Must have the name wrong, which is understandable, names aren’t printed on the tag. (right?)
Seller said she won it through an upscale bridal boutique giveaway she entered back when she was a maid in her friend’s wedding. Not being out any money over it, she just needed to sell it so her family could move in a few weeks. I came out and tried it on and it does feel of the authentic quality but now I’m not so sure about some other things. The fact it was made in China does not bother me, I know most designer anything is these days…
Can anyone look over these photos and tell me Maggie Sottero’s year/style name or if it’s been faked? (sorry for awful phone pics!) I just don’t want to mislead anyone else should I want to sell it after my day in the spotlight!
Many thanks, ladies!
