we looked at the doubletree in tarrytown, it sounds like it has everything that you are looking for. also, maybe the poughkeepsie grand or grandview?? grandview does have shuttles, but its owned by the poughkeepsie grand hotel, which I feel makes it more reliable.
Also, maybe check out LI or NJ venues. Our wedding is in rockland county, but only about 1/2 hr from jersey....
Edit: OH, also try catlin gardens! its beautiful, with an inn on site
Try the Kaaterskill Resort in Catskill. I was just at a wedding there last month and it was gorgeous and I don't think it was too pricey (the bride was on a strict budget too).

I know you said no shuttles... but we're booked at Anthony's Pier 9 in New Windsor which includes a shuttle in the package (to a Hilton Garden Inn about a mile or two away). You also get 5 free rooms and guest discounts at the hotel. Might be worth checking out. I also wish we had looked at Le Chambord (in Hopewell Junction)... which has some rooms on site - though I think they only have 9 or so. I try not to look too often since our deposit is in already at Pier 9 and I'm trying to avoid having second-thoughts!!
There are always hotel venues to check out if you're into that - the Hudson Valley Resort and Conference Center is one... Poughkeepsie Grand.. Rhinecliff Hotel.
Are you looking to stay in a specific area? It might help to know some more of your criteria.

Have you tried Bear Mountain Inn? They have the Lodge and Inn on site. You can also do the ceremony and reception all on site. They also have their own catering on site. The chef won a national award last year I believe.
Hi! So we finally picked a venue - Thayer Hotel at West Point! It's perfect for all our needs and the site is willing to accomodate the ideas we have for different kinds of food at the cocktail hour and dessert, etc. We are now looking for a videographer, so any help on that would be great!!
Mannarose, what's your date?? and congrats on booking Anthony's Pier 9! Someone at work was JUST telling me about how he had his wedding there a few years ago. I hear it's gorgeous!! We have to help each other through these next 11 months!
Ohhh congrats! My photographer has done a bunch of weddings at Thayer - it looks awesome! Not sure what your budget is but my photographer/videographer is AMAZING. Small Moments Studios - check them out! If you look on their blog you can see some Thayer weddings too. :)
The Thayer was our #2 choice! It's AWESOME!!! Congrats! The folks who work there are suuper professional - enjoy it!

yay!! i'm glad you're checking them out. they're seriously my favorite part of the wedding (besides my man, of course... and my fabulous dress). we're getting married june 30 in saugerties - it's my hometown. we've been engaged for a year already so i'm excited to finally be able to say THIS summer!! hehe

Hi all - I have not been able to find anything that fits the criteria my fiance and I have for our wedding. We need a venue that fits about 220, has enough guest rooms either on the grounds or in walking distance - we, along with our parents decided that a shuttle system is out (too many bad experiences!). Also, we need a place that does it all - ceremony (indoor & outdoor accomodations), cocktail hr and reception! I have looked at practically every hotel in Westchester/Hudson Valley. Does anyone have any great suggestions??? Starting to get discouraged!
