<div class="bz_msg_cont"><div class="bz_msg_cont">I wasn't planning on giving said friend a date to limit our numbers. We have not set rule for who gets a date, but basically only gave dates to people who have a girlfriend/boyfriend or who don't know anyone else and are coming from far way.<div class="bz_msg_cont"><div class="bz_msg_cont">What should I say????

Just tell her you are not giving everyone +1s. Be honest. Hopefully she should understand. You can also explain to her your criteria for +1s.

Also let her know that your are limited on the number of guests invited, but should a space open up you will let her know - but let her know that it may not be likely so not to get her hopes up! GL!

I agree be up front and honest. I would decide with your FH on the guidelines of who gets dates and who doesnt then express her where you two made the cut-off because of budget, etc. She should be understanding (although I know a lot of friends of mine aren't understanding because they have never been through the wedding process!)
