We are doing a tri-fold pocketfold invite and can’t figure out out to ‘close’ them.
FI does not want a ribbon or belly band.
He’d like to do a wax seal – but I think we’ll run into postage issues – AND he doesn’t want to do the work of the wax seal (I’m looking into the ready made ones – but, even then, it’s adding about $100+ to the cost of the invites).
I’m thinking a sticker of some sort is our only option – but I haven’t found anything that I think might work. Anyone familiar with any sites I could look for something?
Does anyone have any ideas for a simple, classic, non-frilly way to close the pocketfold?

I used custom made monogram stickers from Zazzle.
It turned out really nice.

I recently received an ivitation that was closed with the couples monogram.
That’s what we’re doing.. I’m going to take our monogram
And then use glue dots on the back of them to close our pocketfolds… I think it works… The invite I got was a sticker =)

I made stickers for my STDs and I’ll have a ton left over so I’m thinking of putting a sticker on my invitations to close them. They’ll probably be a monogram instead though. 🙂

I had rubber stamps made of our monogram and I stamped the monogram onto round stickers to close our pocketfolds. We got lots of compliments on them!

Can you post a picture of your invitation, so we can get a better idea of the style you are looking for?

@Mamasita2004:I don’t have a picture of the actual thing – but I’m using the tri-fold from Paper Source in Silver Shimmer (like the brown one pictured here):

We put a little logo on the flap, but we didn’t seal them in any way. I made sure taht once they were stuffed to put them in a stack and put something heavy on them to flatten them. Worked for us.

Thanks for all the input – I’ll run the ideas by FI tonight… I think we’ll end up doing a logo of some sort…. it just seems too plain without something on the exterior vs. leaving it as is

Our invites were a pocket fold with a wax seal- total postage was only $0.61. I thought the wax would add a lot of weight, too, but it didn’t! We had a wax seal custom made and just did the wax sticks you put in a glue gun- it didn’t take very long to do, and guests have complimented the seal. Something we can always use in the future, too!

@Mrs.T: that’s so good to know!! Did you have any issues with the wax seeping onto the invite (there’s an overlap, so I don’t think that will be an issue – just me worrying about nothing)

We’re thinking of doing something like this. It’s cheap, easy, and we like how it looks!
