After being disappointed about aspects of my wedding, namely making myself so stressed and ill in the run up that I did not take it in the whole experience of being a bride, or the day itself as I should have done, I felt so in a dream on the day and can remeber very very little from it, and having so many regrets that I just can not get over like not taking it all in and, not having enough time to get dressed and my mother hogging the mirror and stressing about how she looked, because of this I did not get to look at myself before I walked down the aisle and, am now upset with how my dress looked on the day as it kept feeling like it was falling down and, looks low in a lot of the pictures. Anyway thats enough venting!, I have decided to do a vow renewal for our second wedding anniversary, I know some people might think its too soon but it is the only way I can deal with how I feel right now and stops me having complete melt downs about the wedding.
My husband (still feels wierd but nice) is from South Africa and we had a lot of important family and friends who could not make it over for the wedding, his mum was actually the only one who was able to come over, so I thought it would be really nice for him, and them, if we had a vow renewal over in the South Africa as we are planning to go over in December 2015 it fits in perfectly. He is from the Western Cape about 25 minutes from Cape Town, I have been out there twice before but have never looked at wedding venues there so I do not know what is around and good and also what is a good price.
I am wondering if there are any South African Bee
s who may be able to point me in the right direction ? I am looking for a venue that will accomodate a party of around 30/40 guests for a venue, photos, meal and evening disco, not somewhere too large, hotels seem perhaps the easiest option in terms of planning it all from the uk as they seem to supply most things needed and, I dont want to be chasing several different suppliers for different things. I would love somewhere with either mountain scenerey or sea views if possible, not on the beach though I don`t think, and preferably accomodation though not essential, and within an hours drive from Cape Town. Can anyone help ? Thank you in advance 🙂

While I don’t currently live in the Western Cape, I lived there for about four years. From what you have said I should think a good idea would be a winelands affair. You’ll be out of the bustle of the city and in the mountains. Look at areas like Franschoek, you could also look at Kleinvaleijj in Wellington (a stunning little venue), although depending on where you are staying this might push your hour’s drive.
I’m going to link you to the Western Cape venue page of the Little Pink Book (a great resource to find top SA wedding vendors) and two other sites. Start with the Little Pink Book first. Winelands weddings do tend to include catering and accomodation but make sure that the venue is able to help you with little things, like decor and draping.
If you still have not found what you are looking for, browse these sites.
Good luck, let me know if you need any other info.

South African bride here -cape town born & bred 🙂 We have so many beautiful venues to choose from; but since you’re looking for mountain or sea views it does at least narrow it down from all the winelands weddings.
I’m getting married at the historic Mount Nelson hotel (http://www.mountnelson.co.za/web/ocap/mount_nelson_hotel.jsp’ defer=’defer) butb they don’t have the sea or mountain views you’re looking for. Have a look at the following:
12 Apostles Hotel for beautiful sea views: http://www.12apostleshotel.com/occasions/wedding-and-honeymoon
Roundhouse Resturant: http://theroundhouserestaurant.com/weddings/
Silvermist Mountain Lodge for lovely mountains: http://www.silvermistmountainlodge.co.za/
Lagoon Beach Hotel: http://www.lagoonbeachhotel.co.za/weddings/
Black Marlin Resturant:http://blackmarlin.co.za/weddings/
Blue Horizon Estate: http://bluehorizonestate.co.za/weddings/
And for a more budget friendly option: Suikerbossie Function Venue. My sister got married here. ts lovely and intimate. http://suikerbossie.co.za/page2col.php?page=20
Let me know if you need any other info. I love this beautiful city I get to call home ♥

@Flanders and j lwt13 thank you so so much that is really helpful, I have emailed the 12 Apostles this morning before I wrote this post, it looks beautiful and I can`t wait to get stuck into looking at the others aswell.
We have just come back from four amazing weeks in South Africa, sigh I miss it so much, it was only the second time I have been over but I am hooked! :), we went to Sanbona Wildlife reserve in the little Karoo and then stayed with my husbands family near Cape Town for Christmas and New Year, its such a stunningly beautiful country and I love how friendly and welcoming everyone is.
Thank you 🙂
