I was firmly not intending to have a photographer at all (our wedding is super low-key and low-budget) but now I’m seriously wavering and wondering if I might regret it. Panicking, more like :/
The trouble is, my budget is like $5-600 (yes, hundred), and I only want like, 2 hours of coverage max. Just the ceremony and a few outdoor shots during cocktail hour. Just some digital files, nothing fancy. No one is willing to do that, apparently. I don’t know what to do!
I’m in the GTA (Toronto-ish) so if anyone has a lead, please help me out!

Where in the gta?
I can ask FIL’s and FI if they know anyone tomorrow.

Have you looked at art schools for students that may be wanting to do something? Of course you sacrifice on experience but if you’re having such a low key event and don’t have that many expectations, im sure it wouldnt hurt to look? Good luck?

@wisher558: Ah thank you! I live in actual Toronto, but the wedding is in Newmarket/East Gwilimbury at a historic site.

@Catcat1: That’s an awesome idea! Yeah, it’s a better option than just friends and family taking photos, which is what I was just planning on doing. I wish I had some connections, lol. My friends are all out of school, but I’ll certainly do some Googling 🙂

@MrsSnowMountain: Even put an ad on whatever online classifieds website is big in your area… Find a photography school/classes facebook page and put up a post… There are a LOT of amateur/learner photographers who’d work for peanuts, I’m sure 😛

You should definitely check out Craigslist! I found free photography twice for my first marriage (e-photos and second reception in Toronto), and the photos came out so great! A quick search just now yielded a couple of photographers easily in your budget. Good luck!
