I think Calia or Caliah would get the pronounciation you want.

I think “Caliah” would be fine. At least I would prounounce it the way you would want!

What about Cahlia?

The names you listed are all reasonable possibilities though too.  I would suspect that as long as you are consistent in pronouncing the name, those around you will pick up on the correct pronounciation.

Caliah sounds perfect. I also like Caleigha. (I don’t think it’s too long btw!)

PS. Having thought about it, there’s a chance I’d pronounce Caliah as “Car-lia” (Putting the emphasis at the start), so I prefer Caleigha!

Honestly, I don’t think I’d pronounce it right no matter what. I would just spell it the way you like. I have a name that people can’t always pronounce and I don’t think it’s a huge deal to have to say it right for them.

This is how I would pronounce those names if I saw them

Calia – CAL-ee-uh

Caleigha- cal-lay-uh

Caliah- cal-ee-uh

Caleah- cal-ee-uh

I think Caliah would probably be best.

I would say Calia or Caliah the way you want it pronounced from the start actually. I like the way it looks without the h at the end.

If it was Cahlia I would say something like CAH-lia which sounds weird. And I agree with you that Caleigha is really long and…well there are a lot of vowels. Lol.

Personally, I could say “Calia” as ka-LEE-uh, the way you want it pronounced. If I saw “Caliah” written, I think I would interpret it as “ka-LIE-uh”, so that it would rhyme with the name “Mariah”.

IMO, I also think that the spelling “Calia” looks the most elegant. Again, purely my preference, but I would choose spelling it with a “C” over a “K”, I think it looks more elegant.

I really like “Calia” It looks nice and I think that for the most part atleast it would be pronounced right.

I have a VERY original named and I can count only a handful of people that pronounced it right the first time the saw it… and this includes College professors… I still love it though and mis-pronounciation and mis-spelling has never bothered me =)

How about Kaleah?

Instead of making people guess and mispronounce (which gets annoying after the umpteenth time), why not spell it the way you’ve written it phonetically? Kaleeuh would solve all your problems. 🙂

My cousin has a little girl with the same name…they spell it Kaliya.  I think I like Caliah the best out of all of the options 🙂

ETA: How about Caleah?
