Oh my gosh, that's terrible! Is your wedding in the church, or is it elsewhere? I guess I'm wondering if your new officiant has to be approved by your church or not. If not, I would start calling judges in your area to see if any of them are free. They do weddings a lot, they are very well-spoken, and likely would tailor the ceremony to your needs/wants. I'm so so sorry!
CALBRIDE, So sorry to hear that you are so close to your special day with this dilemma. My wife and I got married in the Sacramento area (technically Grass Valley, CA) and used a good friend who is a pastor in the area. if you would like I can give you his name and number to contact him. :)
We were so pleased with our ceremony I would honestly recommend him to anyone. I'm positive he doesn;t mind traveling to various sites across the Sacramento area. He also administered our pre marital counseling which was fun and added to the ceremony as well.

@Where-I-Do - We found one last week! Thanks goodness. AFter scouring the web, asking every friend and putting the word out some friends came through for us! Thank you so much for offering up your friend! Had we not just found some one I would totally be taking you up on it. I can't believe you got married in Grass Valley! Right near my childhood stomping grounds! Thanks again for you help!

We lined up my parent's pastor to officiate our wedding back in late December. He is not the main pastor of the church, but more the social pastor in charge of weddings, counseling etc. We had mostly been dealing with his secretary about dates and time for pre-marital counseling and had a hard time getting the pastor himself to respond. A few weeks ago my parents took us in to meet him. He is an old friends of theirs from high school so it was more of a social visit. He told us how bad he is at email but he would help make special arrangements for us to come and meet him as we are 2 hours away and can't make the regularly schedule group sessions. He took down our information and promised to be more diligent and that we were on his calendar so not to worry, Well folks about two weeks ago he dropped a bomb. He wrote us an email saying he "forgot" he had another wedding that day and that he didn't know if he could do both. The other couple didn't know what time they are getting married yet and he would let us know if he could still do our wedding. Let us know?!?!?! They didn't know what time it was going to be?!?!?! Our wedding is 45 days away!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Now we are on a mad dash to find someone. My parents have met with the more rent an offciant type who can also provide us with a DJ and day of coordination. This is just not our ideal. We are so frustrated/dissappointed and deperate! Does anybody know someone in the Sacramento area????
