All that i see as worded wrong is
"This opportunity gives me the chance to grow professionally and will be closer to our families."
you change who you are talking about in the sentence, me and our...other than that it is good :)
@MrsAu: How's this instead?
"This opportunity gives me the chance to grow professionally and will allow me and my husband to be closer to our families."
@Mrs.KMM: I'd add the word 'continue' in the middle part - ie: The opportunity gives me the chance to continue to grow .... (without it, it implies you aren't growing now).... I'd also change the 'our families' to "my family".
I'd also take the "thank you for your understanding" in the 3rd paragraph - because it's implying something that hasn't happened (unless it has) :)..... how about leaving that out and continuing with: Thank you for your support over the years. I wish you all the best...
@Mrs.KMM: I was going to point out the same thing, and I think your edit is perfect! I think this letter looks really good and is professional. If there's a way to make it slightly more personal (i.e. maybe specify something you enjoyed about working there or a way in which you professionally benefitted from this experience), I think that may help a little bit. Make it read less like the standard resignation form letter, if that makes sense.
@Mrs.KMM: I was going to suggest the change in the families sentence, but your revised one is perfect. With that change, sounds great!
@oracle: She actually has already been very understanding. She even served as a reference for me for this new position (so she kind of suspects this letter is coming).
@parasol: I added the following sentance to the end of the first paragraph. Thoughts?
"I’ve particularly enjoyed the opportunity to work with our in-country affiliates to support the registrations in SE Asia and Latin America."
@Mrs.KMM: Love it! Perfect touch, but still very professional. :)
Thanks everyone! Getting ready to go officially submit my notice!

Help! Can any of you Bees critique my letter of resignation? I'm putting in notice to my boss at the end of the workday today and want to make sure this sounds good. This is the first time I've ever given notice at a job before.
Thanks in advance for your help!
Dear [Boss]:
I am writing to inform you of my decision to resign from [company] and my position as a [job title]. My last day will be February 2nd. I have greatly enjoyed working for you for the past few years and I feel that I have learned a lot during my time at [company].
I have accepted a position as a Research Specialist at Emory University in Atlanta. This opportunity gives me the chance to grow professionally and will be closer to our families.
Thank you for your understanding of my decision to leave the company and for all your support over the years. I wish you all the best for your continued success and hope our paths cross again in the future.
If I can be of assistance during this transition, please let me know.
Sincerely,
[Signature and name]
