Okay, I think regardless you should do minimal flowers if you’re going to have texture on the top and bottom layers, just so the design isn’t too overwhelming. If it were me, I think what would actually look great would be a simple, smooth layer on top and bottom and the swirling rose frills in the middle. If you want rose frills on the top layer, go smooth/plain in the middle and then maybe the crinkle on the bottom?

Is your mil a cake designer? Some of those techniques are pretty advanced and would be hard for a beginner and might have to factor into your decision.

other than that minimal floral with texture or you’ll have way too much going on

The last one you put looks soooo cool! Is that for your top layer ? I can only see pics for middle & bottom layers.

That’s great that she can do that for you. I like the crinkly ones. They are so pretty.

junebride2014:  lol we’ll they’re all pretty so can’t go wrong with either but i agree finding a nice mix that won’t be overwhelming won’t be easy.

Hmm what about the crinkly rose one. (That has #2 in pic) for the first layer, the crinkly layered one but without the gradient for the second layer, then the scalloped lace trim for bottom layer?
