I really need some advice. We are stuck between a rock and a hard place, and i dont know what to do :o(
We are due to get married in Sept this year, we have paid a few deposits already to secure the venue, photographer, cake etc etc.
The H2B wants to cancel, and forget about getting married for the time being. I want to postpone and maybe move the wedding back 6 – 8 months.
We are stuck in a family crisis that we cannot get out of, and one we have no control over, and i have no idea what to do for the best.

I’m sorry to hear you’re going thru this. I’d suggest compromising w your FI and postpone it far out enough that he also feels comfortable. You paid your deposits and don’t deserve to lose them!

That’s a difficult situation. It’s difficult to say without knowing WHY your FI wants to forget about being married for the time being. Does he still want to get married or by “forgetting about it for the time being” mean he just doesn’t want to deal with the stress of planning a wedding at the moment? In the end, only you and your FI can decide what is right for you. I’d suggest sitting down together and getting a clearer idea of why you each feel the way you do and trying to compromise.
