You can take it in, but I don’t think you can have it taken out 4 inches. You would have to take the gown to a seamstress to have them look at it to see if there is enough extra material for it to be let out. Your best bet would be to return it and have them send you a replacement that fits your bust and then have the rest taken in as needed.

@philliesgirl125: That’s not very good. If you can get the extra material, your seamstress may be able to add another panel to each side. Usually, if there is extra fabric in the seams, it is about 5/8″ for each seam and that wouldn’t give you enough.

I think that is possible with a good seamstress. About the inches to lose though, that is probably doable, but it will be hard if you haven’t already been exercising. I have lost a couple of sizes since the latter part of February; about 10 pounds, but for me it is slow going. I wouldn’t do a crash diet. Just start eating more fruits and vegtables, drink lots and lots of water and have a salad with every evening meal. Also, try not to eat anything after 7 pm and when you dish up your plate, use a smaller plate, so it looks like you have a lot more on your plate than you actually do. I hope you can do it. I am still trying to lose another 10 to 12 pounds before my wedding, but it has been really hard for me.
