This is my reception site. The venue is going to put white table cloths on it, and my centerpieces look like this:
But I’m going to put a pink light inside so that it lights up and I’m going to get gold overlays for the tables as well.
My problem is the chair covers- I can’t afford them but the orange chairs are awfully ugly! I’m not sure if these will look nice- http://www.koyalwholesale.com/pages-productinfo-category-685-product-6634/chair-covers-sashes-and-table-linens-disposable-chair-covers-w-bow-banquet-chairs-96-pcs-bulk-2-colors.html or if I should just get a chair sash and tie it like this: http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v709/kiwi_collective/wedding/111.jpg
Does anyone have any other ideas?! I’m stuck!

How much were they charging you for chair covers? Seems like the disposable ones are a little pricier than I would have expected. But maybe not…we haven’t gotten the price quote for ours yet. But we also def. need to cover the ugly things!

Maybe I’m wrong, but for the price of the disposables couldn’t you rent chair covers? There are a ton of companies online, if you do some research I’m thinking you could find them for a comparable cost?

I was having some issues like this myself….
Our chairs are dark forest green (the chairs the venue supplies). We don’t have money in our budget for costly chair covers either.
I thought about the disposable covers and also about renting. Here’s what I came up with as far as pro’s and Cons:
Renting:PROs: Look nice (however its hard to really know the quality without feeling them and seeing them in person) way better then the venue’s chairs. Fabric instead of paper fabric like the disposables.
CONS: if we rent with a cheap place like $1.00 per cover – add in shipping fees + the time it would take to put them all on the chairs yourself. Or fork out more money to hire someone to take care of them. Can get really pricey with all that… Plus, what if someone spills on them. what’s their policy for that? ALso I would have to take them off the chairs at the end of the night and fold and possibly press them before mailing them back. Or hire someone to take them off and do all the work…. more money forking out.
*but if you went with a more expensive rental like $5 a chair they will set up and take down for you… but that can get pricey depending how many chairs needed.
Disposable covers: PROs: Look nicer then the venue chairs. Fairly cheap. Can just toss at the end of the night. Possibly ask the venue to toss for you.
CONS: Doesn’t look as nice as a fabric cover. Still have to put on all the chairs yourself, or get helpers or hire someone to do this.
A sash might be nice too. But also have to think about set up and take down.

The chair covers in my area are $3.50 to $4.00 a piece without sashes. I talked to PureDymond events and she quoted me $400 for 100 chairs. For the date I have, the polyester chairs are unavailable so I would have to use the self tying chairs if any. I’ve decided I’m going to try to rent chairs. I have one quote from a company for $200, and that is with delivery, set up and tear down.
