This is a good question that I've been debating. My wedding is not until Sept 2012 but I am facing the same dilemma.
I voted for mini-moon and a later trip just because I wouldn't want the added stress of having to worry about the weather. We're doing a fairly local mini-moon immediately after the wedding and a bigger trip later, just for scheduling reasons.
That is if you're set on the Bahamas, which it sounds like you are. If not, there are plenty of places that are warm and lovely in September.
Hope it all works out well for you!
@Alli259: That's too funny! And I see you are in London. Do you have your photographer booked already? I only ask because I found an amazing one from London but they were already booked for our date :( haha.
@MissSawyer: Oh that's awesome. Good choice of date! (Or maybe not... as it is causeing me a couple of headaches..). We chose LTC Photography for our photographer. Who were you looking into? Riverstone Photography is also good and they are in Paris Ontario.
I'm totally not engaged yet, but my SO and I just had an in depth conversation about our honeymoon. We were throwing around the idea of going on a mini-moon to a US destination, and then for our 1 year anniversary, pull out the big guns and go to Europe. We decided that would be best because we may not have the money to spend on Europe after recently buying a house, etc. and would then have 1 year to save up. I love the idea and think you could even do it for your 6 month-iversary, which would put the trip in March, a great time to go after being sick of winter!
@Alli259: My friend is actually using riverstone, but I wanted the last forty percent
@MissSawyer: Good choice. They are awesome! Too bad they aren't available for your date.
@LaurenK0105: I love the idea of a 6 month anniversary trip. Good call. I will have to pitch that to my FH

Hi Bee... I need your opinion.
My wedding is in September and I would like to spend my honeymoon in the Carribean (Bahamas specifically). Unfortunately it is hurricane season at that time which sort of reuins those plans.
So... my question.
Do I go to the Bahamas in September and hope for the best (with possibly having to reschedule should a hurrican come)?
Go somewhere entirely different that does not have the threat of hurricanes (which I may not enjoy as much?
Or... Do a mini-moon somewhere else... just to get a away for a few days somewhere local and then go to the Bahamas when the weather is better?
Which would you choose? Or have chosen?
