HI girls...im going crazy because I cant decide what to do about my dress. I am wearing 5 inch heels in this photo and the dress is just right. There are 2 layers, the inner layer drops perfectly right to the floor while the outer layer (greecian taffeta) is a little longer as you can see in the picture. My dress lady says it is fine and I can go without cutting it and paying extra for them to cut about 1/2 an inch. What do you girls think? I am comparing the length to the image on the sottero & midgley site  (http://www.sotteroandmidgley.com/dress.aspx?style=ASM3052) all thoughts are welcome...would love as much help as possible. :)

Theres not a photo attached...But if the dress just hits the floor it should be fine.  If its longer than just above the floor, you might trip over it...

They just posted.  I do think that the dress looks a smidge long in these pics.  It might be worth it to shorten it (and then if you want to get lower heels, you could do that too.)

Yeah, it's definitely too long. It's making the dress drape funny and taking away from the bauty of the dress. My eye keeps going to the bottom instead of all the pretty details. Hopefully it won't cost too much to shorten. Good luck!

I think it looks a little long... also, i'd have it shortened just so I didn't have to walk around in 5 inch heels all night! yikes!

I agree with the others -- It's a gorgeous dress, but it does look a tad long.

I think the dress looks fabuluous, but I do think it needs to be hemmed.

The last thing you want to do is step on it and trip in 5 inch heels.

Based on TWO things I think you should definitely have your dress hemmed a bit.

    1) the pictures show it dragging a bit,

    2) and it does not appear that your dress has been pressed yet.  After my dress was pressed I gained about an inch to 1 1/2 inches in length!! You would never think of it, but it's true it happens!  I ended up tripping on my wedding dress just because it wasn't taken up enough - I really wish I would have thought about that before my wedding (I didn't have it pressed until 2 days before).

Just a little advice from a bride who has been there... :)

    Good Luck and Happy Planning!

Add me to the shorten dress camp. I would take a couple of inches off, then you would be getting your money's worth with the alterations and you won't have to wear 5 inch heels! It's a beautiful dress, btw. Who is it by?

I agree with the shorten the dress crew.  I didn't even know they made 5 inch heels!  In my world that's just torture :D

I would also shorten the dress.  I agree with a PP that said your eyes wander to the bottom when there is such beautiful detail on the dress.  I would also question whether your going to make it all day in 5 inch heels...mine were a little over 3 inches and the shoes came off mid-way through the reception

First off, your dress is gorgeous! I really had to stare at the picture to figure out its just teeny bit too long but my first thought was that it looked perfect and had no idea what anyone was talking about.  I think if you're worried about it then it shorten it a bit but it looks great as it is!

Your dress absolutely STUNNING! And although the top half looks gorgeous on you. . i would recommend shortening it just a bit so that the dress looks like the sheer perfection it was meant to be.. . . and so that you will be able to feel your feet at the end of the nightHELP!!!
