As I am in the middle of all my baby product research I came down my list to Baby Monitors.. I am interested in the Angelcare Deluxe Sound and Movement Monitor..
But then I want one that has video like this one…
What have you moms and pregnant bee’s found to be the best?!

I did the angel deluxe because that is the monitor my SIL uses and since I watch my niece I felt like I already know how it works. Their model has the video and sound. I really like the small hand held monitor. We were at our family vacation home and another mom had her baby and monitor there. Her monitor was a small tv. It was hard to move around with it. The other thing I like about the Angel Deluxe is how easy it is to clip on to things. For example, my SIL has one of those tri-pod things that the legs bend and she wraps them around the edge of something and then she is done. Not sure if I’m making sense on explaining that.

I have a angelcare sound, movement and vision monitor. Its the rolls royce of baby monitors. I will not use anything else. It gives me total piece of mind. My best friends baby has sleep apnea, she found her blue, the regular monitor did not pick this up. Thankfully she survived. only just after being on life support. She went straight out and bought one.
Yes they are expensive, but can you put a price on your babys safety?

@Toastymama: Oh wow! I’m glad the little one survived.

Giving this thread a shameless bump!
I am also leaning towards the Angelcare Video monitor (http://www.toysrus.ca/product/index.jsp?productId=4439481′ defer=’defer) but have read some less than stellar reviews about poor video quality, battery life and only having 1 charging station.
A few friends have the regular Angelcare monitor and love it. I have heard however, about false alarms with the sensor pads…
Any recommendation bee’s? We live in a 2 story home so baby would be upstairs sleeping at night while we were downstairs or even in the basement. I think I’d prefer a video monitor as i know i’ll always want to be peeking in, but I could live with just a regular monitor.
Thoughts? Advice? There are so many otions!!!!

We got this video monitor:
and then i borrowed the angelcare monitor with the pad from a friend.
The video monitor allows you to talk to your baby from the other room and is AWESOME – we have been playing with it preparing. It reaches from her room – to our deck and pool too. It doesnt have any fuzz noises either. I also got the angelcare one going and they both worked fine. I would go for the video/pad/sound angelcare if you want the pad though – we only did both bc we were able to borrow the pad.

I’m thinking of going with a summer video monitor.
One of my friends has an angelcare monitor and if her son rolls to far to the side of the crib he ends up off the pad and the alert starts sounding. Whenever I visit she usually has to go check on him 2-3 times. Perhaps her baby rolls more than normal, but something that turned me off.

@RunningGal: yea – and if your fan is on high – it sets it off!! lol Ill probably piss my pants everytime it goes off.
We did the summer video and it is sooo nice. The only thing I wish it had were wifi so we could use our phones to use as monitors as well.

@ms.melli: I registered for the Angelcare sensor pad that detects movement including breathing. A friend had to use this for her newborn because he had apnea and she highly recommended it

I have a motorola video monitor. I thought we didn’t need a monitor because our apartment is so tiny, and just last night I thought to myself “this was the best baby gift we received.” Being able to see him sleeping is awesome – I don’t have to keep running in to check on him and if I see him starting to fuss, I can go in and soothe him back to sleep before he wakes up crying. If you want a breating monitor too, I recommend the SNUZA. It is tiny, portable, and I can’t tell you how much piece of mind it gives me. I can see the little light blinking under his pajamas and I know he is fine.

I’m looking at getting this one solely based on price but reviews are mixed:
I neevr had a video monitor with any of my kids and the monitor I had with my dd was alright. I never used one with baby #1 or 3. zWe’ll see this time around.
