@HER_mkv: My FI and I wanted the same as you: rustic and intimate feeling...no banquet halls. We also have the same budget and we were able to find some outdoor places within our budget. However, most of them will require to bring in your own vendors. However, brining your own vendors may not be so bad because you can always negotiate prices. I believe the Women's Club of Coral Gables is about $2,000 for renting February but it depends on the day.
Have you considered in nice, local restaurants? I have seen some really nice receptions at the Rusty Pelican and I had a friend who had her reception at the Chart House for about 50 guests. She told it was afforable and they enjoyed their meals! :)
I had a friend get married at the women's club and it was very pretty. The Mayfair in the Gables is really nice too, but they can do everything on site.
Try Miami Beach Botanical Garden. My daughter had her wedding reception there. It has recently all been redone, so I am sure it is even more beautiful than before. The rental fee was about $800 or so. You need to bring in your own vendors, but long tables and chairs are included or you can get round tabkes for $7 each.
Also, try contacting Melissa at Events on a Budget. She has a great pacakge deal that includes photography, linens, caterer/open bar for cocktail hour and reception, DJ, Rolls Royce, flowers, etc. It starts at $100 pp and you can add and upgrade as needed. She is awesome!
thank you for all the help ladies!
we have booked the largest ballroom at the 94th aero squadron! :)

Sorry, there are no users yet.
My fiance and I are paying for our own wedding with a little help from my mom...we have about a $10-12K budget.
I don't want to have a 100 person reception but most places require that many as the minimum...im more in the 65-75 range.
I don't like banquet halls, I'm more into places such as:
the spanish monastery
woman's club of coconut grove, etc.
but those two places require outside vendors for everything including tables, linens, cutlery, EVERYTHING.
I need serious help..please...suggested venues that have a rustic, intimate feel?
Anywhere in South Florida is appreciated.
