Haha, I am a jr high school counselor, so this has NOT happened to me. However, I have had a  teacher I worked with be interested in me. He was super cute and funny and we had a lot of similar interests (we were both working in a jr high school, so that makes sense…)

Anyway, I understand that its fun to feel wanted by other guys. Sometimes when you have been with someone for so long it feels nice to get butterflies (new butterflies) again.

@cowardlylion:  I think in any profession, you find yourself in situations with people you are highly attracted to…..its unavoidable and honestly, we’re not dead just because we’re at work….but you never, ever, not even once, lay your meat where you make your bread….no matter how tempting it may be.

@cowardlylion:  LOOK….flirting ain’t f&$%ing….and you can fantasize all you want about this guy, in fact DO IT as much as you can.  Just do it with the understanding and knowledge that he can’t possibly live up to whatever intelligent, intuitive, sensitive, dream lover you’ve created in your mind, and that actually taking that next, highly unprofessional step where the two of you tumble into bed and have awkward, elbowey sex like fiends, will only bring that delicious fantasty down in flames of disappointment and create a terribly awkward and uncomfortable scenario for both of you the next day.

@cowardlylion:  Just try to think how you would feel if your husband was doing the same thing.  And don’t do it!  :/  Ignore this guy as much as possible, he’s your student and you could get in huge trouble, anyway.

I think the best way to nip these feelings in the bud is to think about how you would feel if your husband was thinking about a woman in that way.  Or think about how your husband would feel if he could get inside your head.

@cowardlylion:  While I understand that its normal and common to find persons you interact with attractive.  You are treading on very dangerous ground because 1) He is a student you are a teacher so this is a ethical/professional problem 2) Because you are married (happily you said!).

Obviously you should not pursue this in any way, shape or form.  Hope you find a way to overcome this and not yield to temptation…

ETA: Please be aware, that it is easier to fall into an affair than you may think possible especially like this where there is opportunity for it to become possible because of the professional relationship already in place and easy access you have to this student…even entertaining fantasies about this guy and anything else is a very bad idea.
