That’s strange. Neither of the sofas in the store look “Grain” colored. The top one looks green and the bottom looks blue-green. Is it just my screen? Which is which?

Based on the stock photos, I like “Parchment.” I think the neutral tone would go with everything and would be easy to decorate around.

@jpalm13:  The pictures you took, oddly look so similar in color- where as the manufacter picture those two colors look very different from each other… interesting.

I would go with the grain. I like it! but all would go well with beige carpeting. If you are afraid of being mathy matchy go with sage. That is pretty too.

I have a light blue sofa… it was my first sofa and I worked at a furniture store and got a big employee discount, so I figured why not get a cool color. I got tired of the color pretty fast lol. It’s not a loud blue, but I would have rather gone with a neutral. I’ve had it for 5 years now and it served its purpose… but we’re not going to take it with us when we move.

I voted for the parchment one because it looks like a nice neutral color that would match with antyhing.

@jpalm13:  I vote for parchment. I don’t like the gold tone of the grain, and I think a couch is an investment piece and therefore a neutral colour is best.

@jpalm13:  Odd that the colors are so different than the stock photos.

So all three have that green element to them? In that case, I like the sage, in the bottom pic. If I understand correctly, you’re saying that looks like the silver sage in your link? My friend has a sectional in a similar light blue-green and it’s gorgeous. The only issue is that it calls for decor that matches, unlike a more neutral sofa color.

Since you described it as your first sofa, I’m guessing you’re young and this is your first place? So you still have to buy all your decor?

@jpalm13:  It depends what you want to decorate the rest of the room as. While I love the sage color, I think the smarter decision would be the grain color because you can really easily decorate around that. And since this is your “first couch” you will probably rearrange it in different rooms in the future which calls for new styles every so often.

@jpalm13:  I hear you. If it was your first place, I was going to say go as neutral as possible, since taste and decor change pretty quickly when you’re young. Especially as you’re able to afford better stuff.

Honestly though, it’s still good advice. I like the sage, but I’d never get it. I always go neutral, because I love to buy stuff for the house and my decorative touches change a lot. Also, my friend with the blue green couch DID get sick of it pretty quickly, lol. Parchment is probably the smartest choice.
