@pinkrose23:  I think it really depends on the shades of the colors, as well as the style/colors of the venues.

I like a deep purple with a lighter, natural green and ivory. I would stay away from pastels or light purples, I think bold would be better with gold, silver or black options.

Edit: my colors are eggplant, gold and ivory, I think those colors really compliment each other well

Either purple, silver, and gold or purple, green, and white.  I’m not a fan of purple and black together.  It’s very dark and reminds me of Halloween.

I’ve always thought purple, green, and blue was a great combo.  Probably too much for a wedding though.  Purple, green, and white is my top choice!

I did plum, burgundy (like red wine), and a light gold, close to champagne. It was lovely if you ask me 🙂 as a PP said, purple and black could be a little dark for a wedding.

we did purple silver and blue.

I really like purple silver and black things together if its going to be fancy

but does it match your venue?- They are colors that often don’t.

This was a problem for us.

Here are some of our silver purple and black.

See how much it clashed with the red and browns?

So just as long as that works for you!

Black is a good color cause it matches the tuxes and there is really only one shade of black – same with silver.

Gold you can get alot of fake yellows or coppery colors

Also silver and purple will be perfect in a winter theme.

One of the reasons we did our colors that way was DH wanted a winter wedding and I wanted fall so its how we compromised… even tho it wasn’t a good idea ha.

@pinkrose23:  I really like the idea of just purple and gold together! If you are set on having silver I’d go with smaller amounts of the silver
