Fiance and I are writing our own vows. I’m happy with mine thus far but one thing I want to focus on is how when we met- it felt like we were picking up where we left off (though we never had met)..that I felt like I was meeting with an old friend.
Any wordsmiths out there knows a good/romantic way to phrase this so I’m not rambling??
ETA: This is what I have so far::
I can’t believe this day is finally here. I remember meeting you for the first time and feeling as though I was catching up with an old friend; a really, really old friend who definitely needed to shave his mustache. Facial hair aside, our relationship grew into something more beautiful than I could have ever dreamed, and it didn’t take long for that stranger to become my friend, and that friend to become my everything. Being with you is effortless and somewhere between our long talks, the endless laughs, and the new adventures, I fell in love with you. I’m truly blessed to have you in my life. You never fail to inspire me with your kind heart, your selflessness, and unwavering support. I have learned so much from you: how to make the best out of any situation, the art of cooking the world’s best ramen noodles, how to park a three-quarter ton pickup, and most importantly how to truly love and be loved in return. You’re my best friend, my comic relief, my shoulder to cry on- and each day is made better because you are a part of it. I can’t imagine a better person to spend my life with, to start a family with, and to grow old with. Our life together won’t always be perfect, but I know it will be perfectly complete as long as you are by my side. I promise to weather every storm with you; to share in all your joys as well as every sorrow. I vow to show you the love and respect that you show me daily. To forever be faithfully yours. And above all else, I promise to love you with my whole heart for my whole life.
