We thought we had found the perfect band. 4 piece band with a DJ that would play for ceremony and reception. We sent the deposit (which they never cashed) and months later they were unreachable. My emails don’t get answers (for 3 months now) and now they’re bouncing. So with just 63 days to go we need to find a new band/DJ or else we’ll be stuck DIYing it.
We’re looking for a live band that can play 1950’s-today, preferrably a quartet. Our budget was $850 but we can stretch to $1,000 if we absolutely have to.
We’re in the central Florida area (think Orlando) and the wedding is March 23rd.
If you have any recommendations please let me know ASAP! We’re devestated.

You may want to post an ad in one of the college newspapers— there’s so many bands in a college town, and Orlando’s got a couple of colleges and universities. Or hit some of the college activities where bands play and see if you hear any that you like. $850-1000 is kind of low for a wedding band, so I’d imagine anyone specializing in weddings might already be booked, but you could definitely get a starving student local band on short notice. They might not be skilled on the “chatter” you’d expect from a wedding band’s leader but you can always ask a few trusted friends to each take a turn on the mic and do announcements. It’s a lot easier to fill in the MC role if you’ve got the musical talent covered than the other way around.
