sunshinesparkles:   It helped me to spritz distilled water on my face, and also I use witchhazel which is like a miracle cure for my breakouts.   Use as little makeup as possible between now and the wedding, too.

sunshinesparkles: Apart from doing what you’re doing put toothpaste on any blemishes at night for bed, it helps reduce the redness.

If it’s swelling and red, put some ice in a clean face cloth and put it on the effected area on and off for five minutes a couple times a day. I also use proactive spot treatment and put that on my face before bed, others just use toothpaste before bed on the effected area that works too.

i also heard if you ground up some aspirin and mix that with witch hazel and make a paste and put it on the effected area that it would clear it up fast!

Also, I know it’s hard but dont wear makeup! You need to let the area breathe and be clear! youll thank yourself later!

sunshinesparkles:  grab a concealer with zit drying salisylic (sp?) acid in it, Nutregena makes a good one. Wear that during work. Wash your face when you get home, use witch hazel as a toner (I keep mine in a travel sized spritz bottle), then use a soothing lotion all over for night (aveeno makes a good one, or use one you like) and spot treat zits with a dab of tea tree oil

**BUT I would stop with all the drying creams and tea tree about a week before the wedding. The dry skin is harder to cover up with makeup***

also cut out sugar and booze. And don’t touch your face!! Certainly don’t pick.

My breakouts are connected to what I eat. Too much sugar and grain-based carbs, all dairy, and anything made with soy (so pretty much all processed foods), cause my face to break out. When I am stressed (like in the weeks leading up to the wedding), I tend to eat more simple carbs (bread, pasta, rice, etc.) because they are my “comfort” foods and they are easy to grab and go during rushed times. That always leads to a breakout. This may or may not be the case for you, but I would encourage you to look at what you are eating and see if anything has changed recently that could be contributing to your skin’s current issues. Good luck.

As an aside, my skin looked awful on my wedding day, but my MUA made it look flawless. Never underestimate the skills of a fantastic MUA to make your flaws just disappear.

sunshinesparkles:  Yeah what PP said. Avoid using makeup from now till wedding day as much as possible.

Girl….. I’m 2 weeks away from my wedding and I’m breaking out like a hormonal 15 year old. I have more zits now than I have EVER had.

All I’m doing is keeping my face hydrated, drowning myself in water every day and going to sleep with a white face from all the night cream.

Also, I’m getting a facial this week and another one next week.

sunshinesparkles:  I posted something similar to this Monday, but my wedding is this Saturday. Cut back sweets and try to not stress. My face was terrible Monday, but today it is so much better, so by Sarurday I’ll be back to my porcelain skinned self. Good luck and just try not to stress!

For me – breakouts are more of a result of what I am putting into my body – I eat like shit, my face looks like shit.  I suggest LOTS of green leafy vegetables mixed with vibrant ones – beets, carrots, ect. and lean protein.  Drink lots of water and cut the alcohol.  Perhaps invest in a good mud mask too?

sunshinesparkles:

Go to a health and nutrition store and get yourself a jar of Raw Active Manuka Honey with the highest UMF they sell. Wash your face in the evening and slather that honey on using the back of a spoon. Leave it on as long as you can and wash it off before bed.

Seriously…Manuka Honey is my holy grail for acne. The antibacterial properties of this stuff are incredible and it clears up my acne spots overnight. Make sure it is Raw Active Manuka Honey because a regular jar from the grocery store won’t work.
