Hey all you beautiful brides! I have a great dilema….I CAN’T DECIDE ON OUR WEDDING COLORS!! I need help! Here’s the problem: my FI is in the Air Force and will be wearing his dress blues for the big day which I’m totally excited that he decided to wear them, and two of the four grooms men will be in blues. I love the though of it 🙂 except I don’t want the other groomsmen in black tuxes because I feel like the blues and black will clash in pictures. Also…bridesmaids dresses! I want the blues to look like they belong by incoportaing them into the palette OR creating a palette that the blues won’t clash with…but I’m at a loss for ideas other than a hues of blue wedding and my sister already did that. I want a color palette that is classy and reflects my style as well as works with the blues…but I don’t know what colors to choose! What do I put the other groomsmen in? What color should the bridesmiads wear?
Any ideas? Thoughts? Experience? Are more than welcome!!

Dress blues are very formal, it would look odd if the other groomsmen are in anything but formal tuxes. Pick a color that you want for the women and go with it. It’s a uniform, not a high school prom, not everything has to match.

@Ladybug2013: I would think the dress blues act as a neutral, so you could go with any colors you like. I can’t think of any color that really clashes with blue anyway. But I also don’t think your sister gets lifetime possession of blue weddings so if you want to do shades of blue for yours I vote go for it 🙂

we’re putting our bridesmaids in champagne bridesmaid dresses and the colors are champagne and blush, keeping it soft and neutral

Navy tuxes are the only traditional tux color besides black, so you may be able to find a place that rents them. They look sharp and will go with dress blues. I think blush, champagne, and gold would all look good with dress blues.

@Ladybug2013: Purple dresses would look great with the blue suit… silver or a pale pink would also be very pretty with blue.

I had the same dilemma, my brother will be in his dress blues and my fiance is a tux. I actually didn’t want my brother to be in the bridal party because the fact that he’s in his blues will totally take away the attention from my groom. My brother could careless if he’s in the bridal party or not either way he’s walking down my mom but I had that question when I thought he’d want to be a groomsmen. If he were in his blues and and a groomsmen I would dress the other groomsmen in tuxes. Nothing is as elegant and honorable as dress blues and honestly everyone will be looking at the man in the uniform because let’s be honest everyone loves a soldier. lol Thankfully your groom is the one in the blues so now he’s really going to have all the attention. (hopefully not more than you lol) Good luck!
