Have you tried any that have sleeves?  I love the look of lace sleaves.

have you tried on a lot of different styles? i think strapless dresses with straight necklines usually look best on bigger torsos.

30 dresses really isn’t that many. don’t get discouraged! you’ll find your dress – i promise.

Can you show us some photos of dresses that you liked on your body but still weren’t “the one”?  Maybe we can help you in the right direction?

I’m having similar issues with muscular arms and a small chest. I’m still in the midst of dress shopping, but have generally found that sweetheart necklines work best. I was originally really opposed to strapless because I was self-conscious about looking manly, but the sweetheart really helps soften up the shoulders and makes me look less angular. Fitted bodices and a slightly dropped waist were also good, as sheaths and empire waists looked frumpy and off on me. Maybe a-line would be good to balance out the upper torso and help you not feel self-conscious about your behind? I’m also toying with the idea of a one-shouler because it broke things up on top.

I loved the fit of one dress I tried on that had all of the above, but after scrutinizing the pics my sister took, I decided I didn’t like the design of the bottom of the dress. Plus, I’ve developed a recent fixation with lace. I posted them with another thread here: http://boards.weddingbee.com/topic/dress-style-indecision-ack-kinda-long-sorry

Hope any of this helps! I’d love to hear what works for you as I’m still kind of lost myself!

I have a somewhat similar body type and this is my dress. I found the cut and the sleeves worked well. It is Justin Alexander 8501

What about a Vneck? with an A line? it’s flattering on most body types.

I LOVE the second one, but if you are having a July wedding I don’t know if it quite fits with the time of year.  The first dress is beautiful and I think it fits your body type well.

I admit that I prefer the style of the second dress better in general (it’s sooo classic and elegant and romantic), but I also honestly prefer how it looks on you too. That being said, I don’t think you look “bad” in the first one. I don’t think you need to be self-conscious! You look great in both, but I do like the second one better.

The dress with the lace sleeves looks fantastic on you!! =) If makes your waist look really tiny!
