Spanx is your friend!

Many dresses are made with darts in the back that can be let out.  Do you know if your dress has these?

@SSilvey0927:  Yes, just like PP said, you should check to see if there’s some room to let it out, even an inch will probably help you! Are you wearing a padded bra with it? Try it with a different bra! Or no bra at all if you can get away with it lol

Are you wearing the same bra that you wore to the fitting?

Before safety pinning, I would take the dress to a store and buy excellent support garments. Try them on with the dress to make sure that it works, obviously.

Oh!  Are there straps to this dress?

You could also be retaining water in your boobs, depending on where you are with your “cycle”. lol

This isn’t fun, I know. I’ve been there.

@SSilvey0927:  How big is the gap?

I’m asking because you might be able to do something with buttons and elastic (from a fabric store)…You could take the dress to a fabric store and talk to a sales person about a low-cost fix.

You could also have someone sew you into the dress…basically, sew the fabric around the zipper to your bra. I would do this before the safety pins because (and I say this as someone who had to sew herself into a dress in a bathroom at her sister’s wedding) you don’t want to mess with safety pins unless you have too…I’d worry about them popping while dancing or moving.

I’m not going to explain this very well, but darts are areas in the back of the dress that usually go up and down vertically where the material is gathered or taken in a bit.  If you look at the inside of the dress – usually close to the zipper – you will see them if they are there.  They are there to make the bodice smaller and can usually be opened up.

@SSilvey0927:  Dude, if you’re pregnant, that would do it. My boobs became HUGE overnight when I was first pregnant with my daughter.

lol!

I would definitely try a sports bra or even a tight cami with a shelf bra (just a couple of bucks at Walmart). You could also try wrapping an ACE bandage around your boobs, if you’re really stuck!

Also, this is kind of… cray-cray, but one time I HAD to wear something that was too tight, and the safety pins kept popping out (because it was too tight). So I used a big paperclip to hold the two sides of it (it was a bra, lol) together. It was really strong–I just kind of popped a hole in each side of the bra and looped the paperclip through.
