- Wedding: April 2014
Our parents are not contributing to our wedding financially in any way, but of course are helping out with other things. They are amazing and we love them all very much so want to give them a special gift from the two of us.
I am just not sure what would be a good idea. Although they are content with their lives and each other, I must add that both sets of parents have experienced events throughout the history of their marriages which leads me to understand that a few nights at a nice secluded hotel would NOT be an appropriate gift for any of them – so what else is there?
I was thinking maybe a voucher for a dinner cruise at the city harbour, but wasn’t sure if this was enough (what do you think?). And I am trying to steer clear of things that they can’t use/are simply ornamental, like an album of us or a framed picture or something (no offence to anyone who has decided to do this… like I said, I’m out of ideas but probably haven’t “thought outside the box”enough). Although I might have to resort to these options if I can’t think of anything…
My fiance and I agree that they have most definitely had a hand in how and reasons why my fiance and I fell in love with each other in the first place, having spent the last 20 or so years raising and shaping us into the people we have become, and we want to acknowledge this appropriately…
