So, FI and I gave our wedding planner (who’s taking care of getting us a DJ) a list of songs that we think people would love to dance to, and she said the DJ wanted to know what our dinner music style is as well because obviously (but apparently, not so obvious to us before this), he needs to be playing music while people are eating too….but we don’t know what songs to play during dinner, and we need to let him know by tonight! I’ve been slacking! So, bees – what did/will your DJ/band play while your guests are eating?

My favorite was a medley of TV theme songs “The Newlywed Game” “Love Boat” etc. also some standards – sinatra etc. but without vocals

@WYAtocha: our DJ plays the piano and saxophone during dinner!

@Dancensations: That’s a great idea! 🙂
@Kafrine: We love instrumental but I don’t think our guests – knowing them – could handle instrumental throughout the entire dinner…lol!

The music during dinner is just “background” music since people will be talking. It was fun to have recognizable songs — without the lyrics, that people could say ” hey! this is a cute song for now!” but not overwelming and not so exciting that people want to get up and dance! 🙂
Old standards – Sinatra, Michael Buble, class love songs or TV themes were perfect and we got a lot of compliments. (ALthough to be fair, the band just did it… we didnt ask them too)

We had laid back tunes like Sinatra, Buble – people like it but it also wouldn’t overpower the conversation.
