I need help! I have no idea what time to make the hair appt for me and the girls. My wedding is at 1pm, and we are getting it done at a salon about 1 block from the hotel, and 2 blocks from the ceremony site (so travel time isn’t really an issue). We are not doing a first look. I thought that 10:30 would be early enough, but my mom thinks we need to do it earlier. I don’t want to do it too early and have my hair fall apart while we wait! So my question is, how early did you schedule your hair appointment for?

Do it earlier…your hair shoudln’t fall apart if your stylist knows what she’s doing. I had my hair done at 8am for a 6pm ceremony time. It was fine, didn’t flop out at all.

How many people are getting their hair done and how many hairstylists will there be? This really doesn’t sound like enough time to get your hair done, get dressed, put make up on etc, etc. before your 1pm ceremony. I would start earlier. Here’s my example:
I was a BM in a wedding that started at 6:30. Our hair appt was at 10:30. Granted, there were 5 of us and 2 hair stylists. But by the time we were done it was 1:30pm!! Then we had a 30 min drive to the hotel where we all got dressed/put make up on. Then the photog stole the bride for photos. Then we finally headed to the ceremony site and made it there at 6:15.

I think 10:30 is too late for a 1pm ceremony. My ceremony was at 4:30 and my hair appt. was at 10am and it took two hours. Definitely leave yourself plenty of time!

I”m going to agree that 1030 is too late. I’m getting my hair done at 10 for a 4:30 wedding. With a wedding at 1pm, I’d do it as early as you can… probably like 8am when the salon opens?

I agree with your mom. My wedding starts at 2:00; I’m having my makeup done at 8:00 and hair at 8:30. We have to be there by 11:30 for pictures.

Thanks everyone! There are 5 of us, don’t know how many stylists, but now I’m thinking I underestimated. Will probably see if they can do us at 9 or 8.

You should have your own hair stylist so she can focus on you and another hair stylist for the bridesmaid

My ceremony is also at 1:00. My photographer is arriving at my parents house at 11:30 am. My hair appointment will be at 9:00, which is when the salon opens. I am kinda nervous about time myself, so when I go for my trial, I will have to be mindful of how long it will take her to do my hair.
I think 10:30 is too late for you and your BM’s. I would talk to your stylist and see what she recommends, but IMO the earlier you go, the better.

i’d definitely talk to your hairstylist about how many people they can do at one time and how long it will all take. most places are willing to open earlier to get the job done if need be. i would figure out what time you want to be done all the hair and makeup and work back from that time.
we had our first look at 1pm and i had my hair booked for 9am. we had one stylist to every attendant, so while i got my hair done the girls got theirs done also. I scheduled make up for 10:30am. this allowed me to be ready around 11:30 and the photographer arrived for noon.
