Hi, Bees. I have a problem, and I need your help! I LOVE my dress (just had my second fitting), but…I am feeling kind of blah about the bustle. The train on the dress is so lovely, but then when it is bustled it just kind of hangs there. I have a BIT of time to fix this, and I think I need to ask the sho to just redo the bustle.
If you have a better idea for a bustle, please post pics!
Sorry for the huge pics! And the awkward face 🙂

Without seeing a full-length picture of the back of your dress, I do think your bustle is passable and looks good. But I think if you’re not happy with it, then that is what matters most. I actually think a French bustle could look really nice with your dress.

Agree! I also like the one-point under bustle!

Honestly I wouldn’t do a 1 point over bustle which is what yours looks like, they tend to break the most. I second the French under bustle. That is what I am doing with mine.

That is such a pretty dress and they can certainly do a bettter bustle then that. It looks very easy way out like that. It would look great as a several point french bustle from underneath. It may be more money but they should

I think it should bustled under..

I second the 1-point bustle breaking – wow, that’s a lot of dress to hold up on 1 point.
I would definitely ask about the under bustle and I would have at least 3 points.

The dress is beautiful on you. I think the bustle needs to go under instead of on top, that way it will look more fluid and flowing.

I totally agree w/ summer daisy… I would move to some sort of under busle. it will look more like it belongs w/ the dress rather then an after thought. (which yes we all know it is, but it doesn’t have to look that way. lol)

Yeah, it does look like wayyy too much dress to hold up with one point. If you want to keep the over bustle, I would have it changed to several points and maybe lower? It is kind of high. I also think it would look good with an under bustle like other people have said.

Thanks for the advice, everyone…the current bustle does have 5 points, so the weight is distributed, but it just looks blah. I love the streamlined shape of the dress before bustling, but the bustle looks like just a bunch of fabric bunched on my butt 🙂 I made an appointment for Monday to see what we can do.

I would do the French bustle. I think it looks nicer and it is less likely to break. That is what I did and my train was about the same length as yours!

I agree with PPs, do an under bustle.
By The Way your dress is gorgeous!!

Beautiful dress! I would definitely change that bustle! I agree with the others, a under bustle or french bustle would look much better on your dress!!
