Ok Bees, I need your expert advice. I am having my wedding reception at a beautiful Golf and Country club that is perfect for my FH and I. The only problem is that with the amount of people we’re inviting, they will need to clear some tables to make room on the dance floor and for the band to set up after the reception. I am thinking this will take no longer than 30/45 minutes but what can I do to entertain my guests during this time? There is lots of space outside the ballroom, I just feel it might be awkward if everyone is standing around with nothing in particular to do. Any ideas?!

Is there enough open space for you and FI to dance before tables are moved? I’d look at asking the guests to gather to watch the cake cutting, first dance, garter toss, bouquet toss, etc while the tables are moved out of the way. A photo booth could also help kill some time.
The one issue I see with this is guests belongings- generally when I attend a wedding, I end up leaving my purse/jacket or wrap on my chair when I get up to dance etc. I know most other guests do this too- think about all the guys jackets that get drapped over chairs, handbags on the seat of hung over the back, favors that you take home etc. You will probably need to mkae some sort of announcement to gather belongings/where they can safely be placed, or you are going to have guests searching for their belonging at the end of the night.
