Okay.. M's cousin is having a shower tomorrow and isn't registered anywhere.  His cousin is the groom and the shower is for the bride (not a couple's shower). They are getting married on a cruise this Thanksgiving.  I was thinking of getting them a bottle of Moet, two champagne glasses, and maybe a christmas ornament that says our first christmas... what do you-all think?  She and I aren't close.  I attended her baby shower earlier this year and just brought from the registry.  M and his cousin are close but well they're guys and we know how that is.

When I read the title (and not your post) my first thought was "Money!" :) I say go ahead with your idea! If someone got that for me, I'd be touched. But then again, my FI and I love spending time alone drinking a bottle of wine and I love Christmas.

Your idea sounds great.  Here are a few more just for fun.  You could make her some stationary with her new name.  I realize it's tomorrow, but if you go to Target or Wal-mart and find blank stationary you can run them through your printer.  You could give her something with her new initials, ex: a charm. Give her something to use while on the cruise.

I love the idea of champagne - it's celebratory, it makes a date, adding the Christmas element just makes it sweeter. I love it!

I think champagne is an excellent choice for almost anyone-- however I might skip the Christmas ornament for someone I didn't know very well because it's so hard to know someone else's tastes.

I was just thinking about this in the other Christmas ornament post-- how I would love to receive ornaments if they were from people who knew my style, but I could imagine getting a lot of dust collectors, too.

okay ladies she loved the bottle of the champagne with the ornament she was like meh, i think?! i dunno because i had to leave lol!! it started a bit too late.  i got her a lenox-esque one with gold writing, i think she may like it but was plotting on how to smuggle the moet on the ship (LMBO)!! she was like omg we can drink this the night after the wedding!! it was awesome!! and one of m's cousins or aunts (i can't remember which) kept asking where the strippers were.

I would be smuggling the champagne on board too =) I am not a big ornament person b/c I don't even put a tree up every year. Maybe the ornament will motivate them to get a tree?

yeah M isn't a big christmas person but i think that everyone else in his family is.  especially his aunt (cousin's mom).  we'll see... i always buy gifts that i would want and i'd defintiely want the ornament lol, i would think it was a great sentimental piece (but i'm very sentimental about that sort of thing).
