Platinum is incredibly expensive right now (over $1400 an ounce). Are you set on having it or could you try another white metal?

Palladium is a pure metal in the platinum family. It was a strong contender for me until I found a jeweler that used a white gold mix I wasn’t allergic to. If your jeweler mixes his own gold ask if the alloy can be palladium instead of nickel. Gold allergies are fairly common actually, so more and more places are switching away from nickel.

Gwendolyn88:  Paladium does not have nickel. You can also get white gold mixed with palladium rather than nickel for a little more. Many stores do not offer this option though because it is more expensive.

Gwendolyn88:  no real suggestions, just want to say I had that exact ring – I ended up thinking it didn’t go with my e ring. But it was gorgeous!!!! I ended up giving it to a family member who loved it because I couldn’t sell it. The one thing that id say was a negative was that it has a large sizing bar at the back, but not a big deal. 🙂

You can get nickle-free white gold.
