I got a tall pillar candle like that at IKEA…and it was ivory 🙂

Try one of the dollar stores. In our area they have a lot of pillar candles and tapers or print out coupons from Michaels. That is where we got ours.

Our Michaels (or was it A.C. Moore? Crap, I forget… I think it was Michaels) also sells unity candle sets in their wedding aisle. I actually saw a fairly nice ivory set there that I thought about getting (but Fiance and I nixed the “non-essentials for us” to keep things simple and cheap).

You can get the pillar candle in ivory from IKEA and the taper candles from the dollar store. My sister and her Fiance actually got one of the big round scented candle with the 3 wicks to use as the center candle from Wal-mart with ivory tapers. They decorated it wil crystal appliques from Michael’s. The pastor is adding in a little blurb about the 3 wicks representing past, present, and future =)

If you have a Hobby Lobby in your area, watch their weekly ads.  Quite often, the products in their “bridal” department will be half-off.  We purchased this set for $12.50.  The only embellishment at the time of purchase was the wording only.  We added rhinestone stickers to both the pillar and tapers to give it a little extra pizazz.  We paid $1.29 for the sheet of rhinestone stickers (also on sale in another dept.) Get creative with your design…you can make cuts in the sheets and reposition the rhinestones wherever you would like.  Here is how ours turned out.

That looks great!  Most of the time Hobby Lobby is always cheap.
