So I thought I was set on my color scheme for my wedding – Navy, bright pinks and ivory. I have been set on this color scheme for months now. Plus my BM’s are going to be wearing short Navy dresses, which would be totally wearable again. Our reception is going to be at a Yacht Club so the navy kind of ties in with the nautical theme, as well.
Well I was playing around with David’s Bridal Dress your Wedding feature last night and I clicked on the color Serene (which looks like a light blueish grey color online) The color looked amazing and so pretty! So now I am trying to decide between my original color scheme of Navy, Pink and ivory (my dress is ivory) and Serene (light blueish grey), pink and ivory. The problem is if I went with Serene the dresses would not be as wearable again.
Does anyone have any pics of girls wearing the dresses in the Serene color from David’s Bridal.

I just looked at Serene colored dresses at davids and im kinda confused why you think they cant wear that again but they could navy
Edit- I just saw you said AS wearable. Personally I would wear a color like Serene more then i would navy. But I wouldnt pick out a dress thinking that they could wear it again because who really wears dresses more then once. I know I NEVER do.

How many bridesmaids do you have? You could put them in both colors–I think it would look fine. For me personally, I would rather have the Serene as well, but both colors are lovely and wearable. Another option would be to ask the bridesmaids which they like more–if you’re really concerned about them being able to wear it again.

I chose the navy only because if you are putting the men in navy suits (you didn’t say) I think that looks really sharp together.

I love your original idea… The navy with bright pink just seems to pop for me!

Go see them in person. The serene looks like it borders on a pale teal on my monitor. I voted for navy anyway because that is my color scheme only with peachier pinks.

I adore the look of navy and bright pink. It’s fun, maybe a little unexpected, and definitely complements your yacht club venue. Also, navy is a universal flatterer, meaning it looks great on everyone (of course, not everyone may LIKE wearing it, but it looks good on pretty much everybody). I say, stick with your first palette!

Thanks to those who have commented so far! I think I am going to go to David’s Bridal tonight to see if they have a swatch of the Serene to take a look at. I also will ask my bridesmaids which they like and my Fiance (he’s out of town for work right now). I originally picked Navy because my BM’s have a variety of different hair colors and skin tones and I thought Navy would flatter everyone.
@monitajb – I haven’t decided on the guys’ attire yet. I’m open for suggestions on that though regardless of what color Bridesmaid or Best Man dress I go with!

I voted Navy. It’s prettier IMO and Navy looks good on all skin tones, while Serene could wash some of your girls out.

I picked navy, but only because my colors are navy, blush pink, and ivory! The serene is nice too, but I would warn that it might be harder to find fabrics and accessories in that same shade.

The navy, pink, ivory works better to me because you would have one pop of color with two neutrals. The serene color, while pretty, seems like it would compete with the pink rather than complement it.

Ok, so I went to David’s Bridal today and looked at a swatch of the Serene. It was nothing like the color online. It was still pretty, but was more of a medium blue than I was expecting. So I will be sticking with the original color scheme of Navy, Pink and Ivory for sure!
