Is the second dress a different material? The first one looks pretty prone to wrinkling while the second looks more floaty and like it wouldn’t wrinkle so much. I like the second dress.

@Eckle:  +1. i tried on the first dress when i was dress shopping – don’t you think it’s super heavy? the second one looks like it might be more comfortable and less prone to wrinkling.

@balletbride:  I think the second dress looks awesome! It has a classic shape and is a great canvas to work on (with accessories and such).

Since they are so similar and you already bought the first dress, my vote is for #1. I would recommend taking out the bubble hem (I remember you didn’t really like that). The sparkle is beautiful and I think it brings attention to your face.

I don’t like bubble hems.  If you’ve already purchased the first dress then put it away and don’t think about it.  Get the bubble hem taken out (it’s not hard for a seamstress to change), get it altered to you and steamed before your wedding.

I probably prefer the simplicity of the second dress more, and I think I prefer the ruching on it as well – but enough to justify the extra money you’d have to spend? Probably not.

Unless the second dress costs less than the first, so that there’s only a small difference between what you’d buy the second dress for and sell the first dress for, I don’t know if it’s worth it. The two dresses aren’t THAT different.

That said, I do think you have to feel good in what you wear. Not necessarily love it, just feel that it’s showing you at your best. If the first dress is bothering you so much, your lack of confidence might show through on the day. Though honestly I can’t imagine why, as it looks smashing on you.

@balletbride:  The beading is my favourite part of your dress. I think it’s tasteful and subtle without being gaudy or overpowering at all.

ETA: I don’t care for the way organza flows in this pinned style. I actually prefer the way the taffeta looks (more luxe to me).

Both dresses are beautiful but I love the first one… It has just enough sparkle, the way the fabric lays is perfect and that lace up back is stunning!

I prefer dress 1 – i think the sparkle is actually fairly subtle and the corset back is beautiful – the back of dress 2 looks a little weird on the model to me?

That said, you need to go with what makes you happiest!
