I love the first dress! I tried on the Oleg Cassini from David’s and it does give you a good shape but I didn’t like how the detail on the fabric hugged around the hips. And David’s is always having a sale! It’s a marketing tactic so you feel like you have to buy it right that instant. You have a year so don’t feel pressured :). If you feel you do not like something about one of the dresses, don’t go with it because you will be focusing on the piece you don’t like about it. I almost made that mistake. Also, if you do take it to alterations, let me suggest you take it to an outside alteration shop. I have heard David’s is REALLY expensive for their alterations.

i voted for buying a new Oleg Cassini from DB.

i’ve tried that DB dress on before, and it is a beautiful dress.

a new dress that’s close to your size will save you LOTS of $$ in alteration.

i’m 33, 26, 36, DB size 4 fits a little tight on the chest, size 6 fits fine on the chest but loose on the wait and hips.

regarding DB’s service, i think it varies among stores. i’ve been to two DB stores in southern California, services in both locations were nice. but i did read reviews online complaining about the services in other locations.

I voted for new Oleg Cassini at DB. I can see where you’re coming from about preferring the top of the demetrios – well at first, as the more I looked at them both, I think the Oleg Cassini dress looks unique and better quality (personal opinion – no offence meant to anyone) You have got a year but if you like it then why not especially if they have a sale. Have you tried it on?

I vote for the Oleg Cassini dress. But I’m biased because honestly, right now that’s my number 1 contender for my dress as well. I love the shape it gives me and I agree, it looks really unique. I love the way the tulle wraps around your torso. So elegant and dainty looking.

Honestly, Davids Bridal Petite dresses aren’t that petite. I’ve read stories from brides who are 5’7” who wore their petite gowns. lol. I did vote for the DB dress though because I’ve seen it and it is STUNNING!! I love it. As far as sizing goes, I’m a size two street and I’m wearing a size four in a DB. My dress was discontinued though and all they had left was the four. I think a two or four would work fine. You definitely don’t need a six or a ten.

I got a Cassini dress from David’s Bridal and if yours is anything close to as awesome you will be so glad that you picked it. I think the Cassini dresses are beautiful and I am sure that you will love it!

I voted for #2.  I love that dress also and ever since i started calling around and speaking to bridal salon’s…..i’ve had a suspicion that they do purposely order the gowns bigger so that we pay for alterations.

@TingTing: Thank you for posting your comment……Your measurements are really close to mine. I’m a 33, 26, 34…..about 105 lbs….5’3 tall.  How much do you weigh and how tall are you? If you don’t mind answering.  LOL, I don’t want to be sold down the river so to speak when i order the dress. Thanks.

While Demetrios IS higher quality that DB, I acutally think that the DB dress is much prettier. I would go with that.

IF you’re still looking for opinions – Demetrios Sposabella – your first option, HANDS DOWN.  It’s breathtaking, I can see that!

I love the Oleg Cassini! I am biased as I wore one to my wedding that is similar in style.  I got my alterations at DB because I loved the alterations department after meeting them.  I am not sure how their prices compared to others, but it wasn’t anything ridiculous…a couple hundred I think. I had to get it hemmed, and since it was two layers with the lace, I got charged twice, and then the bustle was also times two.
