Hey Hive-
I am in desperate need of your help. I went dress shopping on Sunday and am having the worst time deciding between two dresses. They are both so different too, so it makes it even harder! I just had such a hard time saying no to any dress...I liked everything!
The first one (on the left) is a Soterro & Midgley Gown JSM1103. It is lace and I never would have dreamed I would like a lace gown. I wouldn't have even tried this dress on, if it weren't for my consultant who said, "You don't have a choice...you are going to try this one on!"
The second one (on the right) is the Maggie Sottero Summer Royale. I have been dying to try this dress on since I saw it on a mannequin months ago (before I was even engaged). It is more plain than I thought I wanted, but the flowers add a little something extra!
Please help me choose which dress you think looks best on me. Thanks so much!

love the one in the left, you look stunning in both but in the lace one you look leaner and taller and your glowing...
I think you look good in both, but slightly better in the lace. However, I'm tempted to say this is because it is very hard for people with fairer skin tones to pull off whiter gowns, and the lace gown is a warmer color.
On the other hand, you might also want to consider the venue for your ceremony/reception. The lace, to me, has a more romantic feel and pulls less attention away from you. The other gown makes more of a statement.
I really like the second one (The flower). I think it looks perfect on you and is very figure flattering. It is also very youthful and fun but also very classy and elegant! :)

I should also comment that the lace gown was taken at a different angle than the flower one so I do appear a little taller in the lace one. We are getting married in a church and the reception is at the local reception hall. We are getting married October 9th.
i love the one on the right.... however you have a killer body and either one would be great for you :D
you look FAB in both of them but eventually i voted for the maggie dress because i like the cut/design that kicks out at the front

I like the lace slightly over the flower dress. It makes you look taller than the other dress. I think the part with the flower & its puffiness abruptly cuts off a nice clean line! But either one is pretty. :)
I love love the flower one. I'm not a huge lace fan and I think the flower one just makes a statement and feels more bridal to me (the train helps with that).
love the lace one!! it looks awesome on you!!! the other dress looks good too but seems to lack something that the other one has. i love sottero and midgley!!! thats what my dress is!!
You look great in both and although usually I am not a big fan of lace I think the lace one looks incredible on you (and the lace looks nice, not dated)!! The lace gets my vote. I like the lines of it better on you. Good luck on your decision!
They're both amazing dresses, but I voted for the lace gown. In the lace gown the first thing I look at is YOU...the gown compliments you and you're the focal point. In the Summer Royale, I feel like the dress is wearing you, rather than you wearing it....if that makes any sense. You can't go wrong, but you look stunning in the lace. good luck!
Tough choice! Would you do anything the the neckline on the gowns? I would love to see the Maggie with a sweetheart neckline...I think its a lovely dress!
They're both gorgeous, but I think the lace dress compliments your (rockin'!) body the best.
While they're both really gorgeous, I voted for the lace gown. I feel like the other one is really pretty, but the lace makes you look really tall and slender, whereas the flower one - I keep just focusing on the elaborate bottom.
What sort of wedding are you planning on having? How do you want to FEEL in your gown? I would think that the lace gives more of a romantic feel, whereas the other one is high-end glamour feeling. Both are beautiful, but I think it depends on what you're going for.
Thanks everyone...you are all so nice! I just want the wedding to feel like "love" I just want our love to radiate to our guests. It's a fairly large wedding about 400 people in our very small town.
I like the second one (with the flower) better. If you never imagined yourself in a lace dress before then I fear that you will pick the lace dress and then have remorse. You do look good in both of them so you win either way!
They're both so pretty but I like the line of the lace dress (and i like lace dresses in general!) It's so flattering - makes you look longer and leaner. But they're both really pretty and your face in both pics shows that you seems happy in both!

I think the Maggie dress looks better on you. The lace dress is a bit too busy and distracting for me.
I love the Summer Royale, I just ordered her for myself, but I'm having a sweetheart neckline. The maggie is very figure flattering on you, so my vote is maggie all the way!
They both look fantastic on you, but I think the first one flatters your figure a bit more.
Do the Maggie gown. I never really liked the lace of S&M, and I think you look stunning in the other. I think in this case, less is more!

I love the lace gown! You look tall, slender and your facial expression just has a glow that you don't have in the other picture. I think you should go with what you feel and look the best in and I think it's the lace dress.
Thank you! The input really does help. I am going to take one of my bridesmaids with me who has not yet seen the dresses on me and see what she thinks. I may look at another place too just because I am so unsure!

Both are really pretty! I had a tough time deciding, but I think the flower one is my fave. (I could be biased as my gown is "somewhat plain" as well!
can't go wrong with either gown.
I voted the one with the flower (and no lace). The reason is, it looks better on you (I actually prefer lace gowns!) because the drapings are diagonal and that makes you torso look longer whereas the lace gown has more of a horizontal draping which makes you look thicker.
The flower. The other one is very pretty but the flower makes me think wow.
I like the lace better on you...the flower hits where it should, whereas the other dress, it kinda makes your eye drop lower, and with more bulk there, you don't look quite as slender. They both have similar tops as far as construction. They both look good on you, I just think the lace looks better...it gives it a whole other dimension.
I voted for the lace one but honestly I like both of these dresses. I think they both look great on you. Personally I think the lace one makes you look a little slimmer. I think they would both look gorgeous with sweetheart necklines.
I vote for SUMMER! That is my dress too and I can't wait for her to come in in march.
First, I do believe that it shows off your nice figure more and second, you can really style this dress any way you want!
even though I love lace, I voted for the 2nd, bc it sounds more "you" also, plainer dresses are easier to accessorize if you find you want to "dress it up"
