I have narrowed down my dress search to two dresses.
I went in knowing exactly what I wanted, an empire waist dress that was fairly simple. My venue is lakeside in July. I tried on the first dress and loved it– it was exactly what I was looking for, felt comfortable in, and felt most me. However, I went to another store and just tried on a dress for fun that was WAY out of my comfort zone and ended loving it as well. It’s completely opposite of what I was looking for but the back is to die for. I definitely feel glamorous in this dress. However, is it too trendy? So, Bees, I need help!! Which dress would you choose?
dress one: It’s too big so I have a little thing in the back to shape it to my body. also, the beige belt was just something the bridal consultant added, doesnt come with it.
Dress 2: also too big. The consultant clipped me in but it made a gathering at the waist which will not normally be there. The fluff is organza, not feathers.

@ande7906: Two looks gorgeous on you, but it doesn’t fit your venue at all. I voted for one.

@ande7906: They are both stunning on you! For the lakeside venue, however, I’d pick #1. Plus, I’m big on comfort. If it felt comfortable, I’d say go for it! You will likely feel more confident in it.

@somethingaquamarine: Yeah, that was also my concern. It’ll be a more elegant lakeside wedding, but even still it might just not work. (Although the people trying to sell the dress tried to convince me that I can make any dress work for any venue!) 🙂 thanks for your feedback, I really appreciate it!

@somethingaquamarine: I completely agree.
@ande7906: However, if you’re having a formal lake wedding, go nuts with dress number 2!

I think #1 is actually more flattering too – it defines your waist a lot more. I think it’s very elegant and chic, yet comfortable/not trying too hard.

I think #1 is beautiful! I love the simple classic look. But, you look amazing is both! Go with the one you want, and don’t worry about fitting the venue. No one is going to be thinking, “OMG her dress doesn’t match her venue!” they will be thinking “she looks beautiful!”
