So my Fiance and I have been debating back and forth about which Sandals to go to in the Bahamas. I have read a bunch of reviews online and both have good and bad reviews. I’m pretty confused at this point.
I should mention that we will be eloping while we’re there.
Also, is the butler rooms worth it?
Have any of you lovely bees been to either resorts recently? How was your stay?

DH and I honeymooned at Sandals Royal Bahamian and LOVED it. We chose SRB mainly because of the private island you could go to and were not disappointed.
As for the butler rooms, sooooo worth it. We stayed in the villas at the back of the resort and it felt so romantic, secluded, wonderful, etc. As for the butlers, it was the small things they took care of that made it worth it to us. Made our dinner reservations, reserved poolside/beach side spots so we wouldn’t have to get up at 6:00 am to get a good spot, etc. But the BEST thing about having a butler room is that you get a reserved palapa on the private island. Because of that, we were able to lay by the beach all day. I burn VERY easily and having that wonderful slice of shade heaven made it perfect for me.
I could go on and on and on about the place, so feel free to ask any questions 🙂

I noticed that RB doesn’t have any tours, did you find there was enough to do?

@julietblueeyes: We were perfectly content being beach bums, so we didn’t really look into the excursions too much. One of the days the private island was closed due to rough waters and out butler offered to set up an excursion to Rose Island. We declined, but the option was there. We just recently got back from vacationing in the Bahamas (not Sandals) and saw a TON of excursions/tours to take, so you could easily find something to do, even if it’s not associated with Sandals.
On the days we felt like being a little more active, we took the #10 bus to downtown and did some touristy shopping. The bus is super cheap, only $1.25/pp. We took a cab one night over to Atlantis to walk around (the places we could, since we weren’t paying guests) and ate at one of the restaurants. Definitely a great time!

Commenting to follow – haven’t been there yet, but FI and I are marrying at Royal Bahamian this winter so I am curious to see what Bees who have been there have to say about it! Super super excited. 😀
