#2 is beautiful. They are both nice, and the color of #1 is cool, but the second one incorporates both the colors and has sparkle. I vote #2 for sure...
I prefer stone #1 :) Beautiful ring, btw!
I really love #2!! They are both beautiful but I just feel like #2 has a little something extra special about it!!
I'd vote for #2, but it's a really tough choice! You couldn't go wrong either way.
Thanks ladies, I'm so indecisive! Everytime I decide on one, I can't stop looking at the other...hmmm...
@LaraW: I would just decide if color or sparkle is more important to you!
I prefer the second one because it is clearer. However, I think the best idea is to give the poll a day, then for one whole hour "wear" the decision to get whichever one wins. Tell yourself thats the one. And see how you feel. Are you happy? Or are you secretely rooting for the other one? I feel like sometimes just making a decision either way lets you know how you really feel.
I'm in the minority, but I like the first one. The color won out for me, I like the way it transitions from green at the edge to more blue in the center.
CorgiTales has a great suggestion! :)
@CorgiTales: Thanks for the advice! I'll definitely give that a try :)
@mousegirl: That's my favourite part of that stone, how it fades from blue to green ^.^
I voted for #2 because I am a sparkly gal and i love the unique color.... but I really like CorgiTales idea...
@Keisha In Love: Thanks for the post!
Think I might be going for number 2, I love both of them however my fiance prefers the sparkly one, it would make the stone more special knowing thats the one my fiance would want to give to me :)
Ok, I'm torn- I love the color in #1, but am all about the sparkle of #2... either would be beautiful really. If it were up to me, I'd probably end up going for the sparkle in #2
@rachgirl82: Thanks! I had exactly the same thoughts as you, I preferred the colour of the first but thought it needed more sparkle, I thought that from a distance it wouldn't reflect much light. The second one is super sparkly and is still a beautiful colour, plus fiance definitely preferred that one :)
The colour in the first one is just stunning! What a unique stone. For coloured gems I will almost always go for colour over clarity, so that would be my pick. I think it could definitely use a bit of a polish, but other than that, who needs sparkle when you can get lost in those hues?
Wow, I can see why this is such a hard decision! The first one is beautiful, I love the color, but I loved the depth/clarity of #2 so that is the one I voted for.
Go sparkly! Having a sapphire myself, I know that the facets really help it "wake up". When there's no light on it, though still beautiful, it's very quiet. But when it catches light it's absolutely breath taking. I have to admit, when I stop at red lights, I try to find a ray of sun in the car so I can make my sapphire dance. HAHA. And every different light will catch a different blue tone. You're gonna have so much fun with it. :)
@Nellular: Thank you! I've gone with the sparkly, the rings currently being made and I'm so excited! I'll be sure to upload some photos ^.^

Hey Bees,
My fiance and I are currently designing my upgraded engagement ring which will be the same design as picture 1. I adore the colour combination of rose gold and a bluey/green stone (Picture 2) so I've been looking at some gorgeous sapphires the jeweller has provided. The problem is that I'm so stuck! I cannot decide between the 2 stones!
Picture 1- Ring design- features a halo surrounding the centre stone
Picture 2- The gorgeous colour combo that I'd love- please note this centre stone is apatite.
As a side note, I'm not bothered by which stone has the higher carat size :)
Here's the first stone, I adore the colour; how it's green around the edges and blue in the centre. It's an old fashioned cut (which is rare) which, to me, shows off the colour more than the sparkle. It's .9ct and it's clarity is VS2, it's also unheated. My only concern is that, with the bezel setting, the light won't catch it very much and that it won't sparkle however it is closer to the apatite in looks...
Here's the second stone, gorgeous colour again however it's cut in a round brilliant style, making it very lively. It's 1.23ct and VVS clarity, this stone has better clarity and carat size than the one above. I'm not sure whether this stone is too lively, although it may look better from a distance compared to the first one...
Opinions would be great! If you have an old fashioned cut sapphire or a lively sapphire feel free to post pictures :)
