Our second daughter is due in less than 60 days. Our oldest is Meredith Rose. At this point, Mallory is the front runner for our new baby. But DH says that while he likes the name, he doesn’t love it like he loved Meredith’s. I like longer, very feminine names. I have suggested Caroline, Natalie, and Colleen (last one being my fave), but he has rejected them all. Can you all suggest some other names I can run by him? We don’t want anything that can be too easily shortened into a nickname.

Well nobody seems to like the names we have picked out if we have a girl but here’s our list:
Winnie, Evelyn, Faye, Marilyn.
It sucks that everyone assumes Marilyn is because we have some kind of weird obsession with Marilyn Monroe. I don’t give a flying flip about her but we’ll probably avoid that name because everyone will associate her with it.

My daughter is Natalie, so I love that one!!! I also like Colleen and Caroline. They made my short list. I also like Charlotte, Adeline, Ava (although overused right now), Margaret, Ann Marie, and Sarah.

FleeSircus: I love Evelyn. It was my grandmother’s name.

What about Catherine (that’s our girl name if this baby is a girl!)?
I also love Anya, Brianna/ Briella.

BabyEtobe: I love your name choices! Obviously I love Sara(h). It can’t really be shortened but it isnt a long name either. Same with Claire which is my top name if I have a girl. I love Charlotte and Evelyn. They can be shortened but they don’t have to be.

We had a list of names to work with last time, here is what we tossed around:
And I know it’s BEYOND old-fashoined, but I do love Agnes or Agatha, nickname Aggie.

Thanks ladies. Evelyn would have been a front runner, but it has too much in common with our last name. I’ll run the other ones by DH.

- Wedding: February 2013 - Mansion House at the MD Zoo
BabyEtobe: I always wanted to name a girl some combination of the following: Eleanor (Nora), Chloe, Genevieve.

Our girl will be Hannah Claire when she comes in a few short months, so obviously I vote for either of those names. But I second the mention of Charlotte, and really like Caroline. Eleanor (Ellie) as DaneLady: mentioned is lovely.

I like Jacqueline and Amelia!
