What kind of “theme” does your wedding have? What does your dress look like? And are you looking for the very normal, easy, satiny, simple bridesmaid dress, ie:

or are you looking at something flowy, chiffon, vintage, rustic, eccentric, etc.? ie:

@leafgum: I like the first set of dresses! Do you know where they are from?

@adnama: The first set of dresses are from J Crew.

To the OP:

Have you checked the outlet and clearance section of David’s Bridal’s website?

It can be a bit of a pain to find enough dresses in the colors and sizes you need, but there are some great buys.

For example, this cute dress is only $29.99 but only available in a 4 and 6

You’ve got ample time. I’ll look around for you! Have you thought about having the dresses made by a seamstress? If so, you can look at sewing patterns from Vogue, Mccall, Simplicity, or Butterick. I’m sewing my bridesmaid dress (and my wedding dress!) so I got the pattern from there, and may alter it slightly.

Not necessarily! You should look into it. Have any friends that can sew?

I too am making my bridesmaid dresses  (4 of them)
and i used 2 patterns,  the top of one and the skirt part of another.  both Simplicity patterns because they really are Simplicity itself.

I have ordered my fabric and lace,  and cant wait to get started on them.

I was quoted £200 each for my bridesmaid dresses!    I have ordered Thai Silk and Nottingham lace…..( easy for me because i am a stonesthrow away from Nottingham)  so i have orderd top quality fabrics,  and i costed them up at £50-60 each…..I could have done them for less if i had gone with cheaper fabric,  but i figured for £50-60 they might as well have the best i can afford.

Sooooooo, if you cant find EXACTLY  what you want,  you can combine 2 patterns to get just the look you want….
