FI and I were looking at china last night, and I think we've narrowed it down to the Vera Wang Grosgrain and Waterford Newgrange patterns. My style tends to be a bit more contemporary and I lean towards Grosgrain, but he has very traditional style and walked in, pointed directly at Newgrange and said it was his favorite.

Which would you choose? The first two pictures are Grosgrain and the second two are Newgrange.

If you don't like either, feel free to post a better set or other options we should consider.

    Thanks!

I like the VW Grosgrain, because the platinum rim isn't exactly the same on all the pieces--like the cup is scallopped, the dinner plate is a little thinner, etc. I think it makes it more visually interesting.

I love the Vera Wang!  I picked Lenox Federal Platinum because I like simple, clean lines, so if you like that-there's a suggestion!

That would be a very hard choice, because they are both so nice. I picked the first one because I liked it ever so slightly better.
