hi all! i had gastric bypass this past May and have lost 160 pounds. i have been trying on dresses and have narrowed my search down to 4. i never thought i would have so many to choose from. i was shying away from showing my shape - but after working so hard to lose- i figure i might as well show it off. i am gettng married in september 2011. i still have 75 more pounds to lose - so i am not sure where i will be by the time of the wedding, but i hope to at least be down another 50 pounds! i found an amazing bridal salon that specializes in plus size bridal. they are going to make me beautiful sleeves for whichever dress i choose - simple sleeves starting off the shoulder and going just to my elbow. ok- enought rambling- here are the dresses. please ignore my HUGE arms!!
#1 - fitted tiered Mon Cheri - Shelby
#2 - satin - not sure of designer
#3 - a-line Private Label by G
#4 - Mon Cheri - Thalia - lace and tulle
First off, congrats on such a huge accomplishment. You look great!
I chose number #2, I think it's most flattering on you. All the gowns are beautiful though, but #2 is my fav :)
I like #4 - it has such a romantic feel to it.

I love #1 because I am a sucker for the intricate lace/beaded dresses. I think they have such a romantic feel to them. But I also love the detail on dress #2 and how it cinches your waist and flatters your figure perfectly!

Be careful in choosing a dress. You'll likely have to buy another one by September. My mother had gastric bypass and she lost weight steadily (about 225 lbs total) for two years. I'd wait until the last possible minute to order. Or else choose one that can be taken in easily. Or don't spend too much on one, because even selling it brand new your likely to get your money back.
Congrats on your accomplishment! That's wonderful and you can do it!!!! ;) I LOVE 1. I just love lase and lots of details. :) Good luck and I am sure you will look lovely in which ever one you decide on. :)
@KendraJ:hi- thanks i am not sure how much longer i can wait. all dress shops in my area are quoting 5 to 6 months for dresses to come in. so if i order by february 1st it still may not come until august. at this point i think i have to dive in and order it now.
@rocktheshade: I just wanted to say congrats on the 160 loss! I had wls myself 6 months ago & have lost just over 100. How are you finding it? :)
I vote for #4, and you don't need sleeves. That swoopy cappy thing is gorgeous.
@rocktheshade: You really look stunning in them all and congratulations on the weight loss!! I choose number 4 though as I like how light and romantic it is. Gorgeous choices though :)
You look fantastic in all of them, but I agree with a previous poster. I would seriously wait a few more months before ordering. Try on some more in a couple months and then decide. Congrats on the weight loss!

if you lose more weight you can always alter the dress. i wouldn't worry too much about that!
I voted for #4 but I like #1 alot too... you'll look beautiful in whichever one you choose!

Congrats on your weight loss. My brother had Gatric Bypass and I know it's not easy.
congratulations on the accomplishment! I think #2 looks fab on you, with #4 (minus sleeves) being my 2nd choice.

#1 looks great on you right now but if you are going to drop another 50 pounds I would def get #1 because it shows off your shape the most and after all that weight loss, you will probably want to do exactly that

Personally I think #1 looks amazing on you. My second choice would be #3.

I chose #1 and #4 but they all look great! I think 4 is my favorite....you look like a princess in it at a ball!!

#1! To me, the others all look the same. If you are going to lose that much weight, I'd check with the dress shop on what a rush fee is vs. how much it will cost to drastically alter the dress so you can wait as long as possible. Also, if you're really on the fence and know you'll need all these alterations, you may want to ask which dress is the easiest (least costly) to alter.
I love the first one best as it really gives you this amazing shape! And congrats on the weight loss!!
@rocktheshade:CONGRATS LOVE! I honestly love the Mon Cheri dresses. They just flatter you in all the right ways!
I like #1 best - but is it possible to order it with a corset back instead of the zip up? I agree with others who have said that the odds are quite likely you'll need a different size by then. A corset back will allow a lot more flexibility than a zip. But #1 all the way, on looks alone. It's gorgeous.

first of all, congratulations on your weight loss! that is a huge accomplishment! you look fabulous in all of the dresses, i think the 1st is my favorite, but which ever one makes you feel the most beautiful is the one you should wear=)

First off Congratulations on losing the weight!! That is AMAZING!
Second I voted for #4... I think it is very flattering and has good detail and would look great with sleeves. But #1 would be my second choice, although it is a bit more understated. :) That said, all of the dresses show off your amazing shape and you can't go wrong with any of them.

I like #1 - I think it's super flattering and I really like the dress itself. Plus if it needs to be altered, it wouldn't alter the shape of the dress much. Congrats on the weight loss!

I adore the first dress. I considered one very similar before going with the one I have now. I love lace and it really flatters your figure.
Have you talked to them about which dresses would be the easiest to alter? That might effect your decision. Buy a size down and go with a material and style that won't be skewed by major alteration (things that aren't symetrical are a lot harder I believe, might be an issue with the 2nd and 3rd)
congrats on taking charge of your health! :) I think you look really great and in my honest opinion, #2 is the most figure flattering. I think it photographs beautifully. I like all of them but #2 makes you rock!

I think the last 3 are really similar, and unless you're in love with one of them, I'd definitely pick #1. It skims your body so nicely, and once altered will be perfect for you.
