Could you pleaseeeeeee help me?
I have been searching for THE wedding band. I have been spending MANY HOURS on this but I couln’t make up my mind. ANY comments & suggestions are greatly appreciated!! Sorry for the huge photos and long post….
My Engagement Ring: 1.60ct, 6 prong Tiffany-Setting Ring with knife edge. This is my dream e-ring
Which wedding band should I choose?
1) 2.5mm Channel-set Band Ring (half circle);
2) 2.2mm shared setting Band Ring (half circle); or
3) 3mm shared setting Band Ring (half circle)
– I plan to wear the wedding band together with the e-ring together most of the time.
– I do not plan to upgrade/ change my wedding band in the future, it is possible that my e-ring would be upgraded but most likely I will also choose the same exact setting.
– I think the Shared-Setting looks MORE beautiful with the e-ring, but personally I think the Channel-Setting seems to look more like a wedding band to me- it has a round, a more complete “band” look (when viewing the band when it is layed flat on the table- pls see photo below)
Thank you very much for your help!!! 🙂

P.S. When looking at Wedding Bands from above, the Channel-Setting (ring on left) has a more round, complete look, and hence feels/looks more like a wedding band to me [compared with the Shared-Setting (ring on the right)].

Hmm I think I’d go for the channel set band, it is a gorgeous ring, I’ve tried one on myself and I think it’s more of a wedding band. Then you could always have one of the other rings on an anniversary or something like that.

I normally would’ve chosen the thinnest option – and I actually kind of prefer a shared setting – but I voted for the channel-set band because I’ve heard that it’s the most secure. There are sooo many horror stories about stones falling out of pave and shared settings!

I honestly would go for the Tiffany Lucida plain wedding band. But I am biassed, I also have the Tiffany Setting (but in yellow gold) and will be getting the yellow gold Tiffany Lucida. I think they go great together! But out of the three options you gave I think the first one suits it the best.

@YesiDo: I personally prefer the look of the channel setting but the thinner shared setting looks really good too.
Ps. Your ring is pretty and sparkly and congratulations!

Oh I love the third picture. I’m shocked more people didn’t vote for it. It’s beautiful and a nice size!!!

I’m not a fan of channel settings so I’d pick a shared prong band.
That’s what I went with!

The third ring looks gorgeous with your engagement ring! I’d say to get that then if you want something more “simple” get a plain band to wear in-between your e-ring and blingy band!

I voted for number 3 but all are beautiful!!

I LOVE number 3! Looks gorgeous and really compliments your e-ring. Although if you are considering channel set for practical reasons I think it looks great with your e-ring as well, and I’m not usually a fan of them.

I really like the channel band with your solitaire!

Thank you so much for ALL of your feedback!!! 🙂
Seems like we have a quite evenly distributed (we could somehow add the votes for Option 2 & 3 together because they are for Shared-Prongs)!
Around half year ago, I tried the weding bands and I thought that I would be getting the Channel Setting for practical reasons.
I read online that Share-Settings might wear-out the e-ring’s prongs and I wanted to find out if that’s the case. IF the Shared-prong would wear-out my e-ring; the choice would be clear!! I tried on the right ring size this time and realize that the Shared-Setting sits lower than I expect and shouldn’t be doing much harm to my e-ring… and this only made my decision more difficult!
After trying on the bands the 2nd time, I was leaning towards the Shared-Setting (2.2mm).
Then I heard that most people would never change their wedding band, which led me to think if the wedding band is supposed to be “more important than the e-ring”, as it last “forever”?? I started to consider the 3mm Shared-Setting ring as it is wider and it looks more prominant, better by itself alone if I’m not wearing the e-ring. Plus the wedding band shown with the Tiffany Setting on the brochures are quite wide.
The two sales told me the 2.2mm Shared-setting looks better with the size of my e-ring… tho..
Channel-Setting: definitely a better choice for practical reasons (last chances of lossing stones; much last likely to cling on things like fabric). It feels more like a Wedding Band.
Shared-Setting (2.2mm): Looks great along WITH the e-Ring.
Shared-Setting (3mm): Looks better than the 2.2mm one when wearing it by itself.
And I’m still deciding….
– If you were to only choose just between the 2.2mm and 3mm shared-setting; which one would you prefer? Is 3mm a bit too wide compared with 2.2mm and would “out-shine” the e-ring?
– has anyone have a Tiffany Shared-Setting and loss a stone before?
