Hi Hive, I need help. My dress is ivory. I was talking to a veil designer one day and she told me I'd have to get my veil in a diamond white, because if I got it in ivory it would look dirty next to my dress. Thoughts/expierence with this? Does this also mean I should get diamond white shoes?

Any help or thoughts is appreciated!

It's okay, don't worry about moving it. :) Now as for my suggestions...

I LOVE the idea of chocolate brown, olive green, and champagney-gold. How classy! I don't think that it means you have to have the guys wear brown tuxes. Black and brown can work together, you just have to do it subtely. Perhaps a chocolate brown tie or pocket square?

As far as your veil... I personally would think a diamond white veil would make an IVORY dress look dirty. My dress is white with goldish/silverish embroidery, and my veil is goldish to match that... I thought it would look weird at first too, but it actually goes together perfectly. You get what you think would look best, not what any veil designer tells you. As far as shoes go... wear whatever you want! It's your wedding, and I doubt many people will be looking at your feet. ;)

I had an ivory dress and wore an ivory veil....I can't imagine why she'd tell you to purchase one in diamond white if your dress is ivory?? A diamond white veil will look *too* white against your ivory dress.

thanks Miss Snowflake, I think I will just have the guys wear black at this point :)

and I will have to try on a few different veils to see which look best!

@Miss Pinot: my mother and I were startled too. The women said it as if it was a common knowledge thing...but it was the first I had heard. Either way, I probably won't purchase a veil until I see what it will look like agaisnt my gown!
