This isn't really out of the box option for you but my FI is wearing a a brown vest and pants with no jacket. We are having a sort of whimiscal rustic theme. I know you said your groomsmen don't really want to pay for suites since they may not wear them again, but check out overstock.com. They have a lot of nice options that may end up being cheaper then renting. I ordered a really nice suit from overstock for $88 but ended up sending it back because it didn't fit my FI, and they were out of a smaller size.
I got my guys suit at macys.com They having some sales right now so it might be worth it to check it out. here is what my guy is wearing( but not that color shirt and he will be wearing a tie)
I love the rustic wedding theme, if I was had the perfect wedding spot for it I'd porbably do it, but alas I do not, So I'll ive through yuo and show you what I found
I call it Relaxed Rustic

I am looking for some suggestions for groom's attire. We will be getting married in November at 4:30 in the afternoon at a church with the reception at a historic home. The theme for the wedding and reception is rustic chic, and our colors are chocolate and baby blue.
We don't really want something as formal as a traditional black tux, also we don't really love the idea of having black tuxes with the bridesmaid's brown dresses. However, it seems that most places that rent tuxes all sort of have the same inventory to choose from. We have seen the khaki suit, and it seems too casual (and more for a destination or summer garden wedding). The brown tux doesn't match the bridesmaid and is also not a favorite. We have considered a gray tux, but again, we are not in love with it.
We also considered buying suits, but none of his groomsmen really have many opportunities to wear suits in their everyday lives, so we have sort of ruled that out.
We are wondering what others have done for a more casual, yet still somewhat traditional feel (appropriate for a church) in their weddings. We have seen some pictures of vests only, suspenders only, etc. But we wanted to get some ideas from everyone else. We are willing to think outside of the box here. If you have suggestions we would really appreciate it. Pictures would even be better, as FI is a visual person.
Thanks, Bees!
