    Hello hive,

     Quick question about diy invites.

For those who have used/plan to use ribbon to tie around the midsection of your invite, are you tying the knot so that it can be untied?

I've just started the process and ribbon tying is a lot easier if i double knot first before i tie the bow....but on my tenth ribbon, i realized that if someone wanted to untie it to see what was written under it (his parents' names) they'd have a hard time doing that without nearly unassembling the whole invite (stuck to a pocketfold envelope)

What have you done/plan to do?

Instead of wrapping it around the entire envelope, I just glued it to the front with a knot in the center. When I formatted the invitations I left a blank space where I knew the ribbon would lay so it wouldn't cover anything.

Perhaps instead of tying them in knots or bows, you could affix it with a sticker that could easily be peeled off?

hmmmm.....i'm not sure the sticker/label would work. the ribbon ties around the invitation and then the invitation is affixed to the pocketfold.

Here's my invitation http://www.gartnerstudios.com/skuDetail.cfm?sku=76324. i'm using the portrait layout instead of the landscape layout shown here.

i've decided to move the ribbon down a bit....hopefully its not to awkward, but i dont want to cause drama with his familiy by covering his parents names with the ribbon. instead the ribbon is now covering the biological dad's name, who didnt play much of any part in his life at all.....but we chose to include him to be respectful.
