Bee’s, we need your help! We hired our DJ 9 months ago. We met them at a Bridal show, they had good reviews, other recommendations, etc. Then, we tried contacting them about 6 weeks ago to set up our meeting and they said to call back 3 weeks before the wedding that it was too soon.
Fast forward to today. I called to say, the wedding was 2 weeks and counting (5/21) and that we needed to speak with someone. The guy who runs the place was pleasant, said our DJ would be in contact and gave us the name of our DJ at which time I googled our assigned DJ…at which time I became traumatized! No, really! Nightmarish review! As in, drunk, beligerant, wouldn’t play the couple’s play list, calling Bride wrong name, vomiting, ignored order of reception, and finally passing out with head in toilet and being banned from venue bad!
So, I emailed the company with a link to the review, asking about the review in a nice way but also stating that we were uncomfortable with this DJ and requesting a new one be assigned. We have only made a $150 deposit with the balance due at the reception. I’m starting to call other DJ’s but we’re only 19 days out!!! What can I do? If I even find a new DJ, can I cancel the contract? I realize I would lose the deposit but would I owe the balance? I don’t see that it states anything in the contract. Your thoughts.
